First, clean around the sore tooth carefully. Using warm salt water, rinse the mouth to clear and food trapped between the teeth.UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCESshould you use aspirin on the aching tooth or gum. In case of facial swelling, apply a cold compress to the area, Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen is recommended in the event of facial swelling.Come in to see is as soon as possible. Facial swelling may be a sign of an abscess and a potentially life-threatening oral facial infection. Typically, once the source of the infection is removed (usually the affected tooth), the infection should subside.

Apply ice to any bruises. In the case of bleeding, apply firm, gentle pressure with sterile gauze or a clean cloth. If pressure does not stop the bleeding, or if bleeding persists after 15 minutes, please contact us or visit the emergency room.

Only remove a broken appliance if it comes out easily. If it is lodged or painful to remove, cover any protruding or sharp edges with wax, cotton balls, gauze or gum.DO NOT REMOVEany wire lodged in the gums, cheek or tongue; see us immediately. Typically, emergency attention is not required for loose or broken appliances that cause no pain or discomfort.

Rinse the area with warm water. Put a cold compress over the facial area of the injury. Recover any broken tooth fragments. Get immediate dental attention from any of our specially trained kid dentists.

Recover the tooth, if possible, making sure to hold it by the crown (top) and not the root end. Rinse, but do not clean or handle the tooth more than necessary. Reinsert the tooth in the socket and hold it in place using a clean piece of gauze or cloth. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, carry it in a cup containing the patients saliva or milk.Water is less favorable than milk but better than letting the tooth dry out. Because time is essential, see us immediately. Baby teeth that are knocked out prematurely do not need to be reinserted and harm may be caused to the underlying permanent teeth by so doing.

Every child is unique and different, so the x-rays needed for one child may be different for another child of the same age. However, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association recommend that children have x-rays taken by age 3 or 4 to evaluate growth and development. This may involve taking one x-ray of the upper front teeth and one of the lower front teeth, as well as one on each side, depending on how many teeth a child has. X-rays of upper and lower teeth do not need to be taken again at each check-up, unless the child has had trauma to a front tooth. X-rays of back teeth should be taken at a minimum of once/ year if the back molars are touching each other. The sides of these teeth cannot be visualized with a dental exam, and often the only way to identify decay is with an x-ray. Decay damages childrens teeth at a faster rate than permanent teeth, and when untreated can cause severe infection.

This is our first time at this location and will definitely have to agree to most of the reviews that the staff and doctors are very friendly. My kids left happy with their goodies. This office is clean and they provide great service to the kids. Although we had a bathroom situation where there's only one working bathroom due to some plumbing issues. Other than that, doctors are very knowledgeable and thorough with their exams.

The office staff in North Babylon is so rude and unprofessional! They laugh at you while speaking to you (esp if your upset) and pretend theyre listening when holding phone away from their ear (saw in person) I dont even know how theyre still in business. They try to make you reschedule an appointment if your courteous enough to say your going to be 5 or 10m late meanwhile their office protocol states 15m also they dont like providing you with documentation you need for your child. They make you jump through hoops and try passing the issue along to others instead of taking responsibility

This past Thursday was my children's first visit with Kidd Smiles in Merrick and the service I received exceeded my expectations. Dr. Kathy and Nate were fabulous! They were gentle, patient, and really took the necessary time to make sure my children were comfortable with the tools used during their cleaning and examination. At the end of their visit, my children were able to pick a sticker, a toy, and a character toothbrush of their choice. My kids were always a little nervous going to a dentist appointment and this time around my kids were relaxed and had a great time. The front desk administrator was lovely and such a pleasure to talk too! She ensured that I had all the documents that I needed and answered all my questions and concerns with scheduling the next appointment. Overall excellent service.I definitely recommend this dentist for all parents, especially parents raising children with special needs. Thank you again to the staff and we will see you soon!

Apparently the people at kiddssmiles under the direction of Dr Michelle feel that they can ignore the medical conditions of their visitors and insist they wear a face covering even after they have been informed of the individuals medical intolerance and deny them needed treatment. They practice mental illness induced theater by force masking their patients only to work in their open unmasked mouths for an hour or more which only makes sense to the few people left that still suffer from mass psychosis of the mask culture. It is recommended that these people seek psychiatric care immediately as life has moved on wile they cling to their mask cult. I do not recommend anyone visit this dental office. Perhaps a large loss in revenue will snap them back to reality.

A+++++.....If you are looking for a Peds dentist, look no further!! This place is awesome from everything to everything. I was referred by one of my mom friends who once she told me of her experience, I knew I had to come here. The application process was sent to me via text and was simple. When we got there, from the inviting, child friendly decor to the professionalism and kindness of everyone who we had to deal with. The doctor was sent from heaven, Dr. Stephanie. She handled my daughter with care. We left the office with NO TRAUMA in spite of what my child had. I immediately made an appt for my son as well. My ONLY issue with this place is that I am too old to be a patient! Thank you Kiddsmiles :). This mom is very happy.

Amazing experiences here with my daughter. Her first visit didn't go as planned. But Dr Antonia and Nate decided to be patient and give her one more chance before turning to sedation. They were absolutely amazing with her and had so much patience. They made my daughter feel so comfortable and got her laughing, explained everything to her about the tools they were using. I can't speak more highly about them. Amazing facility and even better staff.

UPDATE: the office just called me threatening to sue me for leaving this review. SAD. Took my son here in summer of 2021, he was 3 years old at the time. They told me he had about 4-6 cavities. They said he would need to see the anesthesiologist to have crowns and a baby root canal. No X-rays we're done and honestly they didn't even offer to take X-rays, just a cleaning. They said I had to pay the anesthesiologist out of pocket because he doesn't accept payments from insurance companies. I explained to them that I felt uncomfortable having my child under anesthesia and having that much teeth removed since he was only 3 and I thought possibly the cavity could be filled in. They firmly said no the teeth were unable to be filled in and if I did not comply with having the procedure, their office could no longer treat him due to " safety reasons". I took my son to another dentist and they said the teeth can be salvaged, no anesthesia required, just laughing gas.
