I truly love working with kids and their families. I enjoy seeing each young patients smile and get excited about caring for their teeth! There is something so special when a child who has struggled with cavities in the past becomes cavity-free and stays that way! Its a huge feeling of accomplishment.

Being a dentist gives me the chance to meet and interact with so many great people in our community that I otherwise would not have the opportunity to meet. I cherish being a part of their overall health picture, and love to share my knowledge and skills with parents in the hope that I can reduce the occurrence of dental caries (decay) and other oral conditions in children.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in biology from Hendrix College in Conway, AR before obtaining my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. I graduated with high honors, and received the Dental Scholarship Endowment and the Jack T. Andrews Award, both of which were presented on the basis of leadership and scholastic achievement.

I believe that continuing education is an essential element in my ability to provide modern, cutting-edge dental services for my young patients. I recently attended the Comprehensive Review of Pediatric Dentistry for General Practitioners in San Francisco, and have attended the University of Tennessees pediatric dentistry annual meeting for the past seven years.

I live in Hendersonville and am happily married to Dr. Jayson Tabor, who is also a dentist in Hendersonville. We have three daughters, Anna Grace, Madeline, Emerson, and our newest addition Mary Charlotte! We also have a dog, Lucy, a nine-year-old West Highland white terrier. I am also very lucky to have my sister, Dr. Clair Poff, working alongside me!

A big believer of giving back to my community and serving those in need, I have volunteered my time at the Interfaith Dental Clinic, and have been on several medical and dental mission trips to various countries, including Haiti, Brazil, El Salvador, and Ecuador. I am also an active member at Long Hollow Baptist Church.

I feel I am uniquely blessed because I get to work with both adults and children. It is always gratifying to make children smile. Unfortunately, many kids have a fear of the dentist at a very young age. I love to show kids that coming to the dentist can be fun! There is nothing like gaining the trust of a child and being a part of a positive dental experience. When it comes to adults, often times they bring some of the same fears with them! I love making people feel comfortable and helping them understand that together, we both want the best for them.

Meeting people from all walks of life makes each day fun and exciting. I love hearing peoples stories. Unfortunately, I am often guilty of asking questions while working on someones mouth! But I just love getting to know people and finding out about their lives. We all have so much to learn from each other.

It is a true pleasure to come to the office; I am so lucky to get to work with people who are so talented at what they do. We are a family at Tabor Dental & Kid City Smiles, and we will treat you like family! We are always smiling and we love helping others smile, too!

Since I see both adults and children, I feel it is best for my patients that I be knowledgeable in new techniques in aesthetic dentistry, as well as current trends in pediatric dentistry. I consider learning to be a lifelong journey, not a destination. There is always something new to learn that will directly benefit the care I can give to my patients.

I also partake in the Sumner County She-Docs Study Club. Through the She-Docs, I have come to make some wonderful friends among the many other female dentists practicing in Sumner County. We discuss problems faced by individual providers as well as clinical issues some practitioners are facing. It allows us to connect on an individual level and help receive meaningful clinical feedback from other practitioners in our area.

I grew up in northwest Arkansas, in a small town called Paris. My parents still reside in Paris on the 100-acre farm where I grew up. I love going back to visit my parents, though the eight-hour drive makes it tough!

My husband Justin and I live in the Hillsboro Village area of Nashville. Justin is also a dentist and practices in the Pleasant View, TN area. We met in dental school and recently got married. We have a Jack Russell terrier named Cortez who is like a son to us! As with all Jack Russells, he is very hyper, but I cant imagine our lives without him! We recently purchased our first home. We love being homeowners, but everyone was right: the work never ends!

If Im not working, I am probably reading a new book. I recently got my Nashville Public Library card, and I am taking full advantage of its benefits! I also enjoy playing tennis. I was lucky enough to join a tennis league over at Centennial and have met some amazing women. Justin and I love going to concerts and shows, and Nashville is the perfect place for music lovers!

My sister and practice partner, Dr. Mary Beth, and I were blessed to grow up with a father who was a dentist and mother who was a registered nurse. They are both wonderful examples of living generously and caring wholly, and instilled in both of us the importance of community service.

Justin and I are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville. We are enjoying our new church home and are so blessed to have found such a welcoming community. We have also been to Haiti for dental mission trips twice with CMI Medical Missions. We look forward to continuing our work in missions and using our specialized skills to help those who need it most while spreading the Gospel.

I am an RDA, assisting Dr. Tabor and Dr. Poff, and I also help out at the front desk. I began working at Kid City Smiles in 2013, but Ive been in the dental field since 2009. Working at Kid City Smiles is great because were all working with the goal to bring a smile to every child we see. The doctors and the rest of the team truly care about our patients, and treat every child as if they were our own. It is truly an honor to work with such caring people such as my team!

Outside of the office, Im engaged to be married. Together with my fiance, I love exploring Nashville. Were also involved in the Hispanic community, helping individuals to read and write, and conducting home Bible studies. Some of my hobbies include photography, running, soccer, gymnastics, and of course, shopping!

I have a passion for working with children and making their dental experience enjoyable. In this office, that passion is shared by our entire team: We love our patients and were all focused on them having a positive time while visiting us. My day is spent assisting Dr. Tabor and Dr. Poff chairside as they care for our patients; I always talk with the patient during the treatment, explaining to him or her whats going on, what to expect, and whats going to happen next. Its very important that children feel safe and comfortable while here and that is always my focus.

I have a two-year old son at home, who has the cutest cheeks youve ever seen! He is very active and always learns something new every day. When I can find the time, I love being out on the lake and being with my family and friends.

I love helping children and changing their attitude from being scared about seeing a dentist to loving their visits with us. It is incredibly rewarding to know that not only do we provide excellent care for our patients, but we are able to get them excited about their oral health, which means theyll have less dental problems in the future. When Im working chairside, Im always chatting with patients, making sure that theyre comfortable and okay with whats going on. They need to know that this is a good environment and that a dentist visit can be a positive experience. I love to be able to help patients in all aspects of their dental health, whether its cleaning their teeth, placing fillings, or assisting the doctor in any additional procedures.

Away from the office, I love spending time with my family. My husband of 18 years, Jeremy, and I love to ride motorcycles, go antiquing, and travel together. Our son, Jackson is a teenager and in so many activities that keep us busy. We first came to this practice as patients with Jackson 10 years ago, we have loved this office ever since. We attend and volunteer with our Long Hollow Baptist Church family. We love Jesus and our community! I am truly blessed to be part of this sweet and caring office.

Hey! Im Mrs. Chelsea, I have been an RDH with Kid City Smiles for a little over 5 years now. Working with sweet kiddos is the most rewarding job. Walking with each child and parent through their dental journey is something I treasure. As a child, I had my own traumatic experience with dental treatment. A kind and compassionate dentist worked with me to overcome my fears. Now I have the honor of doing the same with others. I have been able to serve on dental missions in Haiti and Nicaragua. I love being able to serve not only little ones here in the states but all over the world.

At Kid City Smiles we truly love and care for each patient in their own specific ways. Our goal is to help little people to become big people who love the dentist.
