Dr. Emily grew up in southern Ohio. She completed her bachelors degree at the University of Dayton and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at The Ohio State University. Immediately after dental school she completed a one year advanced education in dentistry residency at Southern Illinois University. After working as a general dentist for a year she realized her passion was in serving the pediatric and adolescent population.
During her residency she had advanced training in treating patients under sedation, helped families with children that have special medical and behavioral needs, and participated in outreach programs in Northeast Ohio that provided dental treatment to the underserved.
Dr. Emily is committed to giving back to others and enjoys volunteering in the community. She has provided dental care on three medical mission trips to third world countries and plans to continue to participate on these trips throughout her career.
Outside of her professional career, Dr. Emily enjoys traveling, road cycling, running, and crafting. She also loves spending time with her husband, orthodontist Dr. Alex Mellion, and their two daughters Margaret and Catherine.
Dr. Katie Kochenour grew up in Springfield, MO. She followed in her dads footsteps entering the dental profession. Her husband, Nick, is an orthodontist and divides his time between his private practice in Vermilion, OH and the Craniofacial Team at Akron Childrens Hospital.
Dr. Katie graduated from University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2011 and spent 6 years as a general practice dentist before returning to school at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital for her pediatric dental training. She most recently has been part of the pediatric dental team at Akron Childrens hospital.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Dr. Katie is also an avid sports fan! She is extremely loyal to the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas Jayhawks but has also embraced the Cleveland sports teams.

My family really likes this dental office. They are always very patient and accommodating to nervous children. That is a huge plus in my book. They have tablets and a TV in the waiting room, they normally are showing Disney movies. There are also TV's in the exam rooms showing the same thing as the waiting room, which is also a plus. My daughter really likes the staff here especially Dr. Emily! I highly recommend this pediatric dental office.

Where do I begin, I can't say enough good things about this place! Our first visit was completely amazing from start to finish. Everyone was so friendly, informative, the way they speak and interact with kids is so great and comforting. Explanations of procedures were so thorough! Nothing at all felt rushed, I felt so welcomed and just the sense that they genuinely care. My son actually told me "that was fun" after we left our appointment! I'm so happy we discovered this place, even if it's a little out of the way (an hour drive for us) it is WORTH the drive!

Let me start off by saying, I am a general dentist. I am also well aware of my limitations, especially when it comes to putting instruments in my own child's mouth. If you are searching for an outstanding pediatric dentist who practices with empathy, compassion, integrity, and professionalism, look no further than Dr. Mellion. She helped my 5 year old son feel comfortable and relaxed by guiding him through his visit all while keeping me informed every step of the way. She has a magical way of connecting and relating to children. A true gift! My son's cavity was not small, and the work Dr. Mellion did was beautiful. I would highly recommend Dr. Mellion and her team.

Today was my last day and appointment here But, all the years I've been here for dentist appointments, my nurse Jen, and my doctors, Dr. Emily, Dr. Katie, and Dr. Ashley were nothing but such sweet and precious ladies!!! They took care of me so well and they are nothing but, hands down friendly!! It was very hard to say goodbye to them but, I know I will see them again soon somewhere. This dentist will always be my favorite one and Jen, Dr. Emily, Dr. Katie, and Dr. Ashley will always be my favorite dentist people! Jen, Dr. Emily, Dr. Katie, and Dr. Ashley, you guys deserve more than 5 stars for being so kind!

I couldn't be happier with my experience this morning with my 9 year old daughter at Keystone. All staff, and especially Jessica and Dr. Emily, were so patient with my daughter and really helped ease her fears. So happy we found the office and made the switch!

My son & I had our first visit to Keystone today and it was FANTASTIC. Having been to another pediatric dentist, I can say with certainty that Dr Emily & everyone at Keystone was head & shoulders above the other place we had been to in the past, and everything about our appointment (for a tooth extraction) was wonderful from start to finish. My son has pretty moderate dental-anxiety but without being prompted, he even thanked the staff after the extraction and told them "This was the best experience!" while still sitting in the chair. Everyone we talked with was super kind & courteous, and they went above & beyond to make sure my son was comfortable & they made sure I was informed every step of the way. If you're on the fence about taking your child to Keystone, just do it! You'll be so happy you chose Keystone! THANK YOU, Dr. Emily, Jess & Ashley!!!

Awesome! We are so thrilled that we found this place. Dr. Emily and Dr. Katie along with the fantastic staff is so wonderful. They are so kind. Our son is special need and they just give him so much attention and so gentle with him. We truly love everyone there.

I chose this place because they had mostly five star reviews and it did not let me down. By the end of the appointment my daughter was calling the dentist "mom" which is her way of expressing her comfort with her. Glad to have found this office.

I can not say good enough things about this dentist group. My son had a horrible infection and tooth pain and I called over 17 places trying to get him in for an emergency visit appointment. Finally I called Keystone, and they did everything they could to get us in for an appointment in a reasonable time. The office was clean and so kid friendly, and the staff was nice and helpful. They fixed my sons tooth and made him feel comfortable in the process. I'm so grateful for their compassion and understanding of urgency.

First time going to this dentist. They were exceptional!! Ive taken my boys to a few differnt places and none of them compare to Keystone. They were amazing from start to finish. When your kids leave and ask when they are going back with excitment in thier voices (4,10) you know they are doing somehting right!

Dr. Katie and her staff were fantastic with my daughter at her first appointment! Although she's only a toddler and was fearful at first, they were so compassionate and patient with her and really did a fantastic job. They made it look easy and effortless, and seemed to work well as a cohesive team. We look forward to many more visits at Keystone!

The staff of Keystone Pediatric Dentistry was so kind and helpful when our son had a sledding accident that required 3 teeth being pulled. They got us in right away and were so compassionate and caring in what was an incredibly difficult situation. I highly recommend them!
