Growing up in the Newton area, Dr. Cansler has a love and appreciation for the people and culture of western North Carolina. Dr. Cansler completed his 4-year dental education at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine and further pursued an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in Lumberton, NC. As he advances in his dental career, he continues to stay abreast of new techniques and information that will provide the highest level of care to his patients. Dr. Cansler is excited to be joining Dr. Key in providing the best dental care to our patients.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Cansler enjoys playing tennis in his free time. He also takes pleasure in tending his cactus and succulent plant collection. Family is a big part of Dr. Canslers life and being an uncle provides him with hours of entertainment.

I became a dentist more than 35 years ago, and Ive always found joy in seeing my patients self-esteem improve because of the dental care we provide.I appreciate the relationships Ive established with my patients, from the youngest of smiles to the young at heart.Each person I meet reminds me that, regardless of background or culture, we are all people with feelings, concerns, and needs.

It is my goal to give my patients a positive dental experience theyll never forget. Through the years, Ive found that working with my patients and their unique situations enables us to better achieve their dental goals. I believe that this team-based approach leads to informed, confident patients.

New technology and innovations make dental care more comfortable and effective than ever before. I continually take continuing education courses, attend dental seminars, read journal articles, and investigate new products and procedures to provide excellent, up-to-date dental care to my patients.

As a dentist, I have been blessed with a good job and good work to do, and it is nice to be able to help folks and give back to the community whenever I can. Locally, I helped to establish and volunteer in the Cooperative Christian Ministry dental clinic in Hickory, which providesdental care to those who may not receive it otherwise.

I also travel internationally to lead dental teams thatwork in rural villages. Weprovide basic dental treatment to people who have no access to dental care. It is very gratifying to help people who have suffered a long time because of dental infection and pain, but it also makes me very appreciative of the amenities and blessings we take for granted here.

A native of Hickory, I have practiced dentistry in Alleghany County, NC, as well as in The Gambia, West Africa, and Newton, NC. My wife Janet and I have two children. Our daughter Tanya lives in the area with her three children, Vivian,Cameron and Eden. Our son Nathan is a Marine, He and his wife, Hannah, have a daughter Savannah.

I am a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate and have worked in the dental field for more than 35 years. I am the team member who handles the adminstrative and financial responsiblities of the dental practice to make sure everything is running smoothly. With my background in teaching, I like to educate patients on how they can improve their dental health and appearance.

I graduated from St. Charles, MO Tech School in 1993, I bring over 28years of dental experience as a Certified Dental Assistant. I originally started with Dr. Key in 2000 and have returned over 4years ago. I am excited about past & now present relationships with our patients. I am looking forward to many more!

As the Front Office Coordinator, I am the first voice patients hear on the phone, and smiling face at check in and out. In a down to earth, unhurried manner, I help with all aspects of scheduling, insurance and understanding your recommended dental treatment.

I currently reside in Conover, with my husband, Johnny. I have 2 dogs & 2 cats, all rescue! I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I stay very active from kayaking, camping, motorcycles, DIY projects & anything outdoors.

I graduated from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and have over 15 years of dental experience. A person's smile is one of the first things others notice. With Dr. Key and Dr. Cansler's help, my job enables me to help others achieve and maintain their best smile. I have been so blessed to have a career that I love.

I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and have more than 30 years of dental experience. My favorite part of my job is building meaningful relationships with my patients and positively influencing them towardoptimum dental health. Dr. Key, Dr. Cansler and our staff are a great dental team, and Im so grateful to work with them. I value our friendships with one another, the positive work environment, and our true dedication to giving our patients excellent dental care.

My husband Mike and I live in Burke County, where we raised our son and daughter. When Im not in the office, I stay busy with family and church. I especially enjoy spending time with my granddaughters and traveling with my husband.

I joined Dr. Key in the Fall of 2019. I graduated from NWHC, bringing 3 years of dental experience, as a certified dental assistant. Dentistry is the key to a healthy life and I am excited to be a part of a team who provides excellent comfort and care. I enjoy working with our patients and take pride in my job. I am looking forward to building new relationships with all our patients to ensure their visit with us is great!

I recently relocated from Arizona with my Fiance' Adam, and 3 children. I am excited to explore my new home in the Conover area. When I am not helping create beautiful smiles, I love to spend time with my family.
