Dr. Spees is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry and has been a practicing dentist since 1989. After dental school, he completed training at The Dawson Institute for Occlusal Equilibration and the Las Vegas Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry. He has also had advanced cosmetic training from Dr. David Hornbrook of Extreme Makeover and Dr. Larry Rosenthal, known as New York Citys Celebrity Dentist.
Born and raised in Zionsville, Dr. Spees is a second-generation dentist. His father, Dr. Donald Spees, practiced dentistry for 40 years, retiring in 1994. His mother, Jerrie, was a teacher and guidance counselor in the Zionsville School system for 20 years. Dr. Spees is married to Shelley and they have two children, Megan and Connor.
Dr. Kevin Spees was born and raised in Zionsville where he attended and graduated from Zionsville Community High School. After graduation, he continued his studies at Indiana University Purdue University at Fort Wayne, in Indiana. There he received the Jelenko Award for Excellence. Soon afterward, he graduated with an Associate's Degree in Dental Laboratory Technology.
He worked in a laboratory for one year before starting at IUPUI to complete his dental school prerequisites. In 1985 he began his professional dental studies at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
After graduating from dental school in 1989, Dr. Spees joined his father Dr. Donald Spees at his dental practice in the town of Zionsville. He practiced dentistry with his father for five years before his father retired. At retirement, Dr. Donald Spees had practiced his trade for 40 years in Zionsville.
Dr. Brauer owns and operates Poplar Pediatric Dentistry out of Dr. Spees space. Dr. Brauer and her team treat all infants, children, and adolescents -- including those who are medically compromised, anxious or have special health care needs.

Many of you know that For 24 years I was employed by Spees family dentistry as a Dental Hygienist. I moved away from the area thus having to leave my colleagues, patients, and beloved practice. Being away, and visiting several other dental offices I came to realize more than ever what a quality practice Dr. Spees runs. I had some dental work that needed to be completed while I was away. I had the procedure started in my new location, but chose to wait until I was back in the Indianapolis area and let Dr. Spees finish the work. This was a very relaxing Pleasant experience having my teeth cleaned today. The office and personnel were very friendly and the process of cleaning my teeth was comfortable and I felt relaxed the entire time. I will certainly return again for my next appointment when I'm getting my teeth cleaned.

Dr. Spees extracted one of my teeth and refused to treat with pain medication, even after the whole side of my face was throbbing overnight. Poor care!!

Staff is friendly and caring. They want you to have the best dental experience. When I arrived there was no waiting to be seen, they immediately started my appointment. They have great technology and go above and beyond. Dr. Spees is very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have.

I have had a lot of dental work over the last 38 years. I have also seen a fare share of dentist! That all being said I am over the top impressed with Dr. Spees and his staff. They went out of their way to work around my orthodontic appointments! I had to have shots and couldn't feel even a slight pench. The first picture was right after braces came off. And the second picture was after the numbness wore off.

Both my toddler (3) and I had an appointment this morning. My toddler's appointment was her first time at the dentist and the hygienist was so thoughtful and patient. She made her giggle and laugh so many times. My daughter left the office with a huge smile and a princess crown. Their goal is to have your child smiling as they leave, and they did just that. My appointment was what you would expect. I different hygienist but just as friendly. She made me feel comfortable and was quick! Dr Spees sees every patient (even the littles!). He is quick but thorough. It's comforting to know that he checks the work of the hygienist, and ensures you don't have any questions. We are new to the area, but have enjoyed our last 2 appointments here.

I just moved into the area and needed a dentist. I had driven past the office of Dr. Spees numerous times and decided to call for an appointment due to his proximity to my house. I am so glad I did! What an amazing experience from start to finish. From being greeted in the lobby, to friendly hygienists to the most thorough dental exam I've ever had, I could not be more pleased with the quality of service, friendliness and exceptional care I received today.
