Theres nothing better than talking with patients about their backgrounds and families, and hearing about their experiences. Every patient is unique, and I love taking the time to get to know people. I received my Bachelor of Science from Barry University in Miami. While I was at Barry, I excelled on the baseball field and was named a GTE Academic All-American. I attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine, from which I graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
After graduation, I was honored to serve as an Army dentist in Vicenza, Italy. During my service, I gained valuable experience in all areas of dentistry while taking care of the dental needs of our troops and their families. I am grateful for the lessons from each of these institutions. And as a life-long learner, I am always looking to continue my dental education with courses and seminars that focus on advanced methods to help my patients.
In order to provide my patients with the latest technologies, I continuously strive to advance my knowledge and skills. I am a member of the Shark Tooth Study Club, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club: a collaborative group of local dentists who meet regularly to share ideas on advanced dental treatments.
I even have great guidance and wonderful coaching behind the scenes to help my team members and me keep our heads in the game, engage as a strong team, and provide the best care possible. Pride Institute offered a strong foundation for me and now Dr. Wayne Pernell keeps the vision and focus alive with his DynamicLeader programs. I am originally from Syracuse, New York, and now live in Venice. I have three children: Douglas, Allison, and Brian. Outside the office, I enjoy running, boating, fishing, and spectator sports. I also love volunteering for our community, and have been active in the Community Health Action Team (CHAT) and the Early Bird Kiwanis.

My dental experience started in 1978, in Southeast Florida. Since starting my career I have attended Palm Beach College for Dental Assisting, Broward College, and the University of North Carolina for Expanded Orthodontic training. Over the years I have held positions as office manager, bookkeeper, and at the front desk. I am so very happy to now work with Dr. Schapley and this wonderful team. Everyone is genuinely concerned about each other and our patients, which makes for a warm and caring environment for all.
As a dental assistant, I work chairside and support the doctor during procedures. At the same time, my focus is always on our patient and their comfort. I love hearing stories of peoples lives and love to see patients smiling as they leave.
Im a mother to three amazing children and they, with their spouses, have blessed with me with seven grandchildren, so far! I love being a grandparent! I am an avid reader, quilter, and partner in Cape Haze Quilting.

I grew up on a family farm in Ohio and now love living in Florida. My husband is an elementary school teacher in North Port and I have a lovely daughter who is going into middle school. My free time is spent with my family. I enjoy creative projects with my daughter and we all like going to Universal Orlando.
I attended an accredited Dental Assisting Program at Florida College of Medical & Dental Careers in Ft. Lauderdale in 1988. In the past 33 years I have been fortunate to have worked with amazing dentists who have offered the opportunity to continue my education through multiple seminars and trainings. I now bring that experience and knowledge to this incredible practice. Dr. Schapley is a wonderful doctor and he has put together an amazing team.
My husband is a retired Air Force Security Forces Sargent of 20 years. He is now a Police Officer. I have two adult children, Becca and Christopher, and my first grandbaby is due in early June 2021! My hobbies include yoga, rollerblading, boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding. I also enjoy scrapbooking, music, watching football, and spending time with my family, including my Jack Russell, Lulu.
I have been in the dental field since 1986, when I obtained my Dental Assistant Certification. I worked as a dental assistant until 2008 and then transitioned to the front office. Its a good feeling to be part of a dental family where we all strive for excellence and want our patients to know they matter to us.
Im a newcomer to the state, having moved here with my husband, in 2018, from Central New York. I have three children and four beautiful grandchildren. I love the beach and gardening, and enjoy anytime spent with my amazing family.
I graduated from Delaware Tech Community College in 2008, earning my degree in Applied Science, and passed the National Dental Hygiene Boards and State Clinical Boards for both Pennsylvania and Florida. I really enjoy being a part of a small, caring team with shared values towards our patients. I love that we laugh a lot in this office and we run a smooth operation where everyone pitches in.

My husband Monty and I have three children, Ethan, Harper, and Gage. I grew up sailing the Chesapeake Bay, devouring books, and was involved in singing and theater in school. We've moved to Florida to be near family and enjoy the beautiful tropical weather. I enjoy gardening, relaxing around the pool, boating, reading, and going on spontaneous adventures to random Florida locales with my family.

Dr. Schapley and has called North Port/South Venice their home since 2005 and love serving this community. Collecting toys for local children during the holidays, serving pancakes at the Bunny Breakfast, and volunteering at the Fathers Day Fishing Tournament are just some of the community focused events that Dr. Schapley is proud to be a part of.
