I feel so fortunate to be able to help people every day. It is a privilege to help people and improve their oral health. I can sleep well at night knowing my team and I provide a high level of honest dentistry and have fun doing it. We truly enjoy working with our patients and partnering to achieve ideal care.
I am originally from Albuquerque and a 1995 graduate of Albuquerque Sandia High School. I attended the University of New Mexico toearnmy Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1999. In addition to my education, I also played baseball for the Lobos.
While at UNM, I started dating Katie, who would eventually become my wife. We were married in 2000. She grew up in New England and encouraged me to apply to dental school out east. We moved to Boston, where I attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicineand obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. After I completed dental school, we returned to New Mexico andstarted Albuquerque Advanced Dental Care in 2009.
I really enjoy continuing to learn, and believe that continuing education after dental school is crucial to providing patients with optimal care. I havetaken more CE than is required every year becauseI want to be the best dentist I can be. In 2009, I completed an extensive preceptorship in dental implants and bone grafting at the University of Texas, San Antonio.
My favorite way to spend my time is with my wife and kids! I truly enjoy attending all my kids sports and extracurricular activities. From soccer practice to cheer to basketball, we are always busy after school. I also really enjoy being outdoors and spending time in the mountains. I love skiing and watching my Boston Red Sox. Like everybody else in Albuquerque, I also enjoy going to The PIT to watch Lobo basketball games and supporting Lobo sports in general.
I love working in our office and directly influencing the culture and way we treat our patients. I am a people person and really enjoy working with our team as well as meeting and developing relationships with our patients and those in our dental community. Istudied customer service extensivelyin my career prior to joining my husband, Bobby, in the dental office. I believe that customer service is at the core of, and of the utmost importancein, any business and I have enjoyed introducing these philosophies to our team and helping to implement them inour office culture.
It is very fulfilling to own this business with my husband, support him in his career, use my skills to grow our business further and work with our team to deliver superior service to our dental community. Dr. Kerschen is a man of genuine integrity and has such strong ethics;it is truly a dream come true to support and partner with him to deliver amazing service to our community. I was born in Michigan, grew up in southern New Hampshire, and moved to New Mexico when I was 15.I finished high school in New Mexico andattended UNM where I graduated in 2000 with my bachelorsinbusiness administration marketing. Dr. Kerschen and I were marriedafter we earned our degrees, and moved to Boston where he attended dental school.
I believe in continually educating myself in order tomake sureour office is always running the most effectively and efficientlyit can. I wantto ensure we deliveran optimal patient experience and the high level of customer service and care wealways strive to deliver.
Technology continues to advance and often streamlines office processes and systems which benefits our patients in numerous ways. I believe itisimportant to be able to educate our team continually on new software and practice management systems and philosophies that allow us to communicate better as a team, and with our patients in general.
Dr. Kerschen and I have been married for 16 years. We have two beautiful children:our daughter is ten and our son is eight. We also have a Labrador retriever rescue, Maggie. I love being a mom and spending time with our funny, smart, and amazing children. I am very active in their school as a volunteer in the classroom, sports, extracurricular activities, and on committees. My other hobbies include spending time with my family and friends,taking long walks with our dog, and traveling (specifically to the beach)!
I graduated from UNM with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene. This is my second career and I could not be happier with my choice. I also worked for a time with the Indian Health Service in Santa Fe doing clinical work as well as a sealant program for school children. I most enjoy private practice, since we are able to develop long-term relationships with our patients. I love getting to know my patients, and helping each and every one of them optimize their oral health.I look forward to a long and fulfilling career with Dr. Kerschen and his friendly and caring team of professionals.
I went to La Cueva High School and then to UNM, where I graduatedsumma cum laudefromthe dental hygiene program in 1999. Then Ireceived my bachelors degree in 2000. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found a career that I enjoy so much. It is wonderful to meet people and be a part of improving their oral hygiene as well as their overall health. I like to get to know my patients, so that I can work with each one on an individual basis. I believe educating and communicatingwith patients is the key to a lasting relationship. Dr. Kerschen is not only an incredible dentist but has a genuine interest in caring for his patients. I have been very blessed to become a member of his outstanding dental team.
I was born in Colorado, but moved to Albuquerque at just six months of age. I have a wonderful husband and three spoiled-rotten cats. I am a huge lover of animals. I spend most of my summers camping and hiking all throughout New Mexico and Colorado. In the winter I like to stay indoors and follow one of my dads passions, cooking.
I have been with the practice since April 2019 and have been working in the dental field for over twenty years. I have been married for 29 years and have 2 children. I am not a New Mexico native but I have quickly become attached. We enjoy traveling and eating out (when able, dang COVID). I look forward to creating long term relationships with our patients and helping you to achieve your dental goals.
I was born and raised in northern New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque in 2000. I have been in the dental field for 25 years. I worked as a clinical assistant the first 18 years,then moved to the front office where I really enjoy working with our patients to help them understand their treatment options, insurance benefits, and our financing options. I am really happy to work for Dr. Kerschen. He is a friendly, caring, wonderful dentist who only wants the best for his patients. I also enjoy getting to know all of our wonderful patients and the opportunity to work with an extraordinary team.
I studied atUNM Taos in the dental assisting science program, and joined Dr. Kerschens office recently. I love working withDr. Kerschen and our team because every day there is another opportunity for growth and development.I feel extremely supported by my doctor and the team because every day they invest in making me a better dental assistant and professional. I really enjoy getting to know the patients.
I attended PIMA Medical Institute, where I graduated with Honors. I have been in the Dental field for almost fifteen years. I began and have sustained my career as an Independent Contractor with the Military for Dental PHA and SRP, providing dental readiness for our service men and women before they deploy. Throughout the course of the last decade I was fortunate to further the development of my expertise as a dental assistant. Within the last two years, I was happy to become an addition to Dr. Kerschen and his team. I am very grateful to have provided this service for as long as I have and continue to do so with the supportive foundation that is Albuquerque Advanced Dental Care.
I grew up in Crownpoint, New Mexico, part of the Eastern Navajo Nation. I have been a resident of Albuquerque for over twenty years and am a Highland High School alumna. My family and I are actively involved in music programs of APS where both my children are accomplished musicians. During my free time, I thoroughly enjoy watching movies and series binging! Overall, I am just thankful to wake up each day and appreciate the little things in life.
The majority of our team has been with us many years (some since we took over this practice in 2009), and our patients trulyfeel like they know our team and are comforted by the consistency and strength of their relationships. There is comfort in personally knowing the people who will be providing your care.
Our team is made up of mature, genuine, and extremely knowledgeable dental professionals who truly care about our patients. There are lots of hugs, stories told, and laughter heard daily in our office.
We are also a charismatic, fun team that tries to minimize dental angst and promote a fun and light-hearted environment to put our patients at ease. We often have patients tell us that much to their surprise they really like coming to our dental office.
We understand that some people do not enjoy going to the dentist, but we do our best to provide a fun, caring environment sothey realize coming to the dentist is not that bad after all.Sometimes it can even be fun!
