Dr. Rivas has been following his calling for over 25 years. Having owned and operated two successful cosmetic dentistry practices in Silicon Valley and in Napa Valley, it wasnt until 2010 that Dr. Rivas moved his family to Texas. He successfully practiced at numerous hospitals and offices around Texas before finally settling in Kerrville, in 2019. He has a long family history in the Lone Star State. He and his wife made the choice to return their family back to a more simple, familial, and traditional lifestyle that reflects their beliefs. Couldn't be anywhere, but Texas!
Dr. Rivas is on the Surgical Staff at Peterson Regional Medical Center. He is a Texas Dental Board Level II Sedation Certified Dentist, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified. He is a member of The Hill Country Forum For Dental Excellence chapter of The Seattle Study Club. Dr. Rivas fully enjoys treating patients of all ages from children to adults, and special needs patients.
When not providing world class dental services, Dr. Rivas loves spending his time with his wife, their three children, and their three dogs. Besides dentistry, Dr. Rivas is also passionate about traveling, music, food and wine, language, science, and history.
Debbie has been in the dental field for 33 years. She started as a dental assistant and has been in administrative positions for the last 8 years. She and her husband Brian moved to Kerrville from Durango, Colorado three years ago to be closer to their grandchildren, and get away from the cold weather. Between the two of them, they have five grown children, seven grandchildren, and two fur babies. They enjoy riding their Harley's in Hill Country and hanging out with the family as much as possible.
Francine studied business in New York and Silicon Valley, graduating with a degree in Anthropology from California State University, San Jose. She enjoys cooking, culinary history, travel, and spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 3 dogs. She hasn't always been a Texan, but she's glad she got here to raise her family where others share her traditional beliefs and values.
Jackie is a native of Kerrville. She attended Concorde Career College in San Antonio where she obtained her RDA license. Jackie loves spending time with her husband, baby girl and dog. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding with her family, reading and dancing. She choose her dental career to help others feel good about their smiles.
Yamilet joins us from Comfort! She completed her RDA program at the College of Health Care Professions in San Antonio- Yamilet is cross trained and you will see her smile at the front desk and assisting Dr. Rivas as well. She choose to become a dental assistant because she likes to help patients gain confidence with their smile. She loves working with children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and her dog Duke.

I've been a patient at Kerrville Family Dental for a couple of years and they provide many reasons to smile. The entire staff has always been friendly and helpful & any work I've had done has been relatively pain-free, from scheduling to drilling. Highly recommend!

Just spent a couple hours in the dental chair, and feel more relaxed than ever. That chair is so comfy, it rivals any recliner. The sound of the drill is a soothing white noise that almost lulled me off to sleep. I did not even have to lift my arm to get my own drink of water, they squirted it right in my mouth for me. To top it all off, they even suctioned my saliva right out of my mouth. I didn't even have to bother swallowing it myself. Such pure luxury I tell you. I've no negative to report. I give this fine establishment a 5/5 rating.

The staff is the star! Afraid of dental offices? This is your place! Dr Rivas is caring and explains everything very well. You know what to expect. You feel like you're their only patient. I have found my forever dentist. Thanks, y'all!

These guys are an awesome team. Dr. Rivas is very knowledgeable and takes care to fully explain things as well as best courses of action, and he does it all laid out logically. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Rivas and his staff are AMAZING. I have a lifelong fear of dentists, Dr. Rivas' chair side manner and understanding my issues were more than I could have expected. For the first time in 60 years, I don't hate my dentist!! I wish I could have given more than 5 stars.

Have been going to this dental office for 3 years. Very professional and very good at making me comfortable. The Hygienist was engaged and explained as she went along. The doctor was good at communicating and also empathetic.

Had 2 fillings done on same day--one was large -- and I didn't feel a thing PLUS I did not have to leave with half my mouth/face numb with anesthetic. Quick. Perfect. Painless. And I could eat and feel my mouth chew food immediately after my appointment. The doc breaks the explanations down for you to easily pick up. He shoots it straight, but it's easy to take. I highly recommend Dr. Rivas and his crew. Give them a try.

UPDATE: second visit.... I was told my tooth pain was all in my head, then my shoulder, that had recently been operated on, was repeatedly tapped with no acknowledgment or apology. I wanted to run as fast as I could. I originally gave a five star review after my first visit. Not sure what happened between first visit and 2nd, but 2nd visit was infuriating and uncomfortable. (The rest of the staff was extremely kind and helpful, very very sweet).

Dr Rivas was absolutely wonderful with my 5 year old daughter. He took the time to interact with her, ask her questions and make sure she felt comfortable before looking at her teeth. If you're looking for dentist who is great for the whole family, Dr. Rivas is a great fit!

Dr Rivas is a magician. I had two upper front teeth extracted and there was no pain throughout the procedure. Woo-Hoo!!! I explained that in the past I always experienced extreme pain during the numbing process. Dr. Rivas listened patiently and this is the first time that I had NO PAIN during the entire process of numbing and pulling the teeth. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Rivas and his staff!!!!!
