Dr. Adrienne Barnes is a certified pediatric dental specialist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Her mission is to serve families and young children, and givethem a positive experience while maintaining their oral health.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Barnes earned her Bachelor of Scienceat Bradley University. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC. After returning home, she completed her certificate in pediatric dentistry at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, Chicago.
Dr. Barnes is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, Illinois State Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Barnes goes to all her society meeting continuing educationclasses. This keeps her current on the newest techniques in dentistry and allows for the most up-to-date treatment for her patients
Dr. Barnes gives back to the community through charities that include the Salvation Army and the Greater Chicago Food Depository, as well as her local church. In 2012, she served as a spokesperson for Delta Dentals Dentist by 1program.
I have been a dentist for thirty five years! Over the years, changing someone's smile for the better has never gotten old, and neither has challenging preconcieved notions about the discomfort and annoyance of going to the dentist. My father was a dentist, and after watching him help so many people with their smile as I grew up, it became my passion as well.
My education in dentistry has provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. I attended theUniversity of Illinois at Chicago Circle from1977-1980. I also attended the University of Illinois Dental College from 1980-1984, earning a Bachelor of Sciencein Dentistry 1982 and my DDS in 1984.
I've enjoyed continuing education in many forms, including journals and online courses from the ADA, the Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and Kenwood Hyde Park Dental Society. I use these resources to stay relevant in the ever evolving world of dental care and technology.
I am truly blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. I am actively involved inLiberty Baptist Church's Feed the People and various community service organizations. Giving back to the community is the responsibility of those who are blessed.
I have lived in the south side of Chicago my entire life, I was raised here and I raised my own family here. I am the proud father to my son Davoud, who currently works at Holsten Management. In my free time, I enjoy running, biking, tennis, scuba diving, and deep sea fishing when I have the opportunity.
Dr. Naana Mensah is originally from St. Paul Minnesota. After graduating from high school, she attended Marquette University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mensah is dedicated and committed to improving the oral and overall health of her patients. Dr. Mensah appreciates getting to know all of her patients. She believes that taking time to educate patients on the importance of oral health will lead to the improvement of overall health. Dr. Mensah enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and welcomes challenging and complex cases that restore her patients confidence and smile.
Dr. Mensah is an active member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Association and Chicago Dental Association. She knows the importance of keeping up with the latest technology and advances in dentistry. She has taken several hours of continuing education courses to make sure her patients receive the best care possible.
