Periodontists are one of nine specialties supported by the American Dental Association. Each periodontist is required to complete 36 months of training. During this time, some institutions offer a degree in Master of Science in Dentistry, which requires additional research. Dr. Camenisch completed her masters thesis on examining a potential marker (phospholipase A2-IIA) which could differentiate between patients with good oral health, gingivitis, or periodontitis.

We pride ourselves on being a digital practice. We use digital radiographs and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to create the best treatment plans for our patients. A CBCT allows for a three-dimensional representation of the jaw, which enables Dr. Camenisch to assess the bone quantity to see if a tooth would be suitable for treatment or if an implant could be placed. The newer X-ray option offered at Kentucky Periodontics and Implant Dentistry allows us to provide more comfort in taking X-rays, and it lets us take them at a quicker pace!

We pride ourselves on working well with others to offer you the very best treatment. Whether you are walking into our clinic seeking care for the first time in years or have a referral from another dentist, we want to provide you with the best care possible. We work cohesively with outstanding general dentists and specialists, including endodontists, prosthodontists, and oral surgeons. We will continue to function as a team to achieve the best possible results for our patients.
