Douglas D. Durbin, DMD, MSD, is the President and Owner of Kentucky Orthodontics & Invisalign, with 7office locations across Kentucky. Dr. Durbin has been in practice for over 35 years and has always offered the latest techniques and technologies to improve his patients' oral health and the appearance of their smiles. He is a fellow of both the College of Dentistry at the University of Kentucky and the World Federation of Orthodontics. Dr. Durbin experienced his undergraduate education at the University of Kentuckyin Lexington, KY. From there, he continued his education and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)degree from the College of Dentistry at UK. After receiving his doctorate, he served as Captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps for nearly 4years. Once his military service was complete, he returned to the University of Kentucky for his Master ofScience in Dentistry (MSD) as a specialist inOrthodontics. After receiving his MSD, he pursued and attained AmericanBoard Certification and further education and training to become a certified Invisalignprovider. Dr. Durbin recognized the value of continuing his education earlyin his career, therefore he has undergone additional training indentofacial orthopedics, surgical orthodontics, lingual orthodontics, TMJ (TMD) treatment,Invisaligntreatment, orthodontic technology, cosmetic correction procedures, plusorthodontic diagnosis, treatment, and lifelong or permanent retention.
Dr. Durbin is passionate about educating othersand working alongsidehis peers to advancethe field of orthodontics. He has lectured to leading orthodontists on a national scale regarding headgear-free dento-facial orthopedic Herbst appliance therapies and has made network television appearancesto discuss various topics in orthodontics. As a recognized authority on dento-facialorthopedics, Dr. Durbin has contributed greatly to the field through his 12-year research study of lifetime efficacyand benefits of fixed bonded invisible wire retainers, as well as his published studyfor the Journal ofClinical Orthodontics. His work, leadership, and expertise has also added significantly to the American Association of Orthodontists, which supports orthodontic research and fellowship worldwide.
I feel very blessedto play such an important role in the lives of so many people. To be able to combine my artistic tendencies, my concern for others, and my strong sense of integrity each day is very gratifying. Yet, the real reward comes from helping kids and adults to feel comfortable with their appearance and live their lives with confidence and higher self-esteem with LIFE-LASTING results.After over 35 yearsas an orthodontist, I'm still very powerfully motivated by this. Dr. Durbin is also greatly involved in his community outside his office as well. He served asan Elder at Great Commission Fellowship Church in Wilmore, KYand currently is an active partner with Southland Christian Church. He chaired manyEagle Scout Review Boards for candidates in the Boy Scouts of Americaas well, which aids in upholding the integrity and honorable standards of the program and its members.
'Gosh, I wish I knew where to start. When I met Dr.Durbin, I felt really timid and ashamed of my smile because I had always been told things like, you would be so pretty if you would fix your teethmakes a person afraid to make eye contact and smile at the world. I also felt hopeless because other orthodontists had told me that Invisalign wasnt an option for my complex crowding issueI was 34 years old and not interested in traditional braces. To say he pulled off a miracle would really be selling him short. Most days, I recheck the mirror over and over because I cant believe this smile is on my face. 'I was patient of Dr Durbin 22 years ago ( I was in 8th grade). I got my braces off in 2000! I not only get compliments on my smile nearly every where I go, I also have had zero shifting. He placed a permanent retainer on and 22 years later its perfectly intact. I have never had to have any work on my retainer! My dentist compliment what a great job was done on my retainer and how well cleaned it is. If you are looking for a excellent orthodontist look no further. 'I was not expecting to feel like part of a family when I went in for work on my teeth but that is exactly what happened. From day one, Dr. Durbin and his staff not only made me feel at home but they were extremely patient and kind with all my questions and concerns. I threw a few curve balls at them, having to leave the state for awhile but not once did they drop the ball. They stayed in consistent contact with me and worked on making for sure I was taken care of. Dr. Durbin provided excellent work and my teeth look and feel amazing! At 41 years old, I am finally confident in my smile. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking confidence in their smile, provided by a wonderful Doctor and his staff.'

Great Dr. and Excellent staff! My twin daughters went through the process with Invisalign and let me tell you within no time their teeth were straight and beautiful, any bumps in the road along the way Chasity went above and beyond for my girls and honestly she is the reason we went with Invisalign cause from the first time I called and spoke with Chasity I asked " Is there a benefit to Invisalign over traditional braces"? Her replay was "Yes! You will save Time and Money." And honestly we did indeed accomplish both! Thanks again, John V Humes

I am thoroughly happy with the service I've received from Dr. Durban. I got my braces in 1995 and my teeth have remained straight until today. I constantly get compliments on my teeth. I would recommend Dr. Durbin to anyone who wants a perfect smile!!

ADULT PATIENT REVIEW! I came to Dr. Durbin a hot, dental mess. When I was a kid, dental care was not consistant, so I had loads of work done to correct the health of my mouth. (Thank you Dr. Feck and Dr. Witty, respectively!) Dr. Durbin went straight to work and told me upfront that he would need to think outside the box for my care because of the amount of bone damage and alignment needed. It was scary, but every visit was like game day--exciting and intense. Dr. Durbin truly is in this business to change lives and promote good health, so when he and I met, we both knew this would be more than just the usual "getting braces" routine, and he loved that! He used all sorts of methods he learned through his years of experience, his training as a military doctor, and extensive knowledge of best practices world wide. I couldn't believe how individualized my treatment was! He worked to ensure that my smile was perfect and after surgery, braces ("Beauty is pain!" He would say everytime I had a new power chain installed. lol), and a few invisaline retainers, I have a beautiful smile. I would not recommend anyone else. Dr. Durbin changed my life. If you are thinking about orthodonic care for a few crooked teeth or a life altering correction, look no further. You will find a welcoming office, fantastic hygenists, and gifted doctors. Highly recommended!

As of today we have only visited Dr. Durbin once. He was very friendly, explained everything and took time to answer my questions and address my concerns. Long story short, we had a couple of obstacles that was going to push my daughters next appointment to the end of August. I emailed Dr. Durbin to let him know what was going on and that there was going to be a delay, that the "other" orthodontic office in town wasn't going to release my daughters scans. HE HIMSELF started looking and was able to get my daughter a MUCH sooner appointment so we can get treatment going. I have never in my life seen a more concerned doctor and be so hands on with patients care. I HIGHLY recommend. Staff is friendly and helpful also. I look forward to our long road ahead. I know my daughter will be in good hands.
