Dr. McClain completed his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University (BYU) with a degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology. He attended dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and immediately following, received valuable training at the OU Childrens Hospital General Practice Residency (during which he worked in tandem with the local VA, delivering care to military veterans). He received his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Dr. McClain is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and The Kentucky Association of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. McClain was born in Michigan into a Military family but spent a majority of his childhood and teenage years in Altus, Oklahoma. Dr. McClains wife, a native of Kentucky, quickly sold him on the magnificence of the horse capital of the world and the beauty of the BlueGrass country. He is excited to call Shelbyville his new home with his wife, Grace, and their three children, Maxwell, Jacob, and Anna-Josephine. Dr. Tim loves experiencing new places, from traveling to visit friends in foreign countries or learning new skills, like wood carving and snow sculpting, if given the opportunity its usually hard to say no.
