Dr. Nathan Walters knew when he walked into an oral surgery clinic in dental school that this was the career for him. He fell in love with the profession, enjoying its combination of medicine and dentistry. He feels like he was born to be an oral surgeon and looks forward to each day of excitement, challenges, and fulfillment.

Following his degree, Dr. Walters opened a practice with one of his friends. Over the years, they experienced great success and have since added new doctors, expanded to new locations, and opened a surgical center. Looking for a new practice to join, Dr. Walters wanted to work alongside skilled physicians and was thrilled to join the team at Kentuckiana Oral Maxillofacial and Dental Implant Surgery. It is important for him to collaborate with other professionals in an area he loved, and he found the perfect fit at this practice.

Dr. Walters feels privileged to help others through oral surgery by improving their confidence, alleviating anxiety, and relieving pain. When patients are nervous, he takes the time to explain the procedure and expected outcomes. He answers any questions and explains the variety of anesthesia options available for a comfortable experience.

Most of Dr. Walters free time revolves around his three children. He enjoys attending sporting events and concerts. He feels very lucky to have traveled all over the world and looks forward to any opportunity to experience new things.

Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, Dr. Christopher Noonan was inspired by his father, a neurosurgeon, to pursue a career in the dental/medical field. Oral surgery was his specialty of choice because of its combination of dentistry, medicine, surgery, and anesthesia.

Dr. Noonan joined Kentuckiana Oral Maxillofacial and Dental Implant Surgery in 2005 and enjoys being a part of the Kentuckiana community. This practice affords Dr. Noonan the unique opportunity to practice with doctors whom he attended school and residency. Dr. Noonan enjoys the opportunity to practice both in an office and in a hospital environment. He sees patients daily who are in pain because of a dental issue, and being able to provide immediate relief is a great honor and privilege. He values the trust patients place in him. As a patient, you can expect Dr. Noonan to help you feel comfortable and confident. Hell talk you through the process from start to finish and will always take the time to answer any questions.

Dr. Geoffrey Mills grew up 3 hours southeast of Louisville. While studying medicine, he applied at the University of Louisville oral surgery program and decided to pursue a career as an oral surgeon. During his residency as Chief Resident, he performed a three-surgeon operation and was eager to later find a practice where he could work alongside such skilled surgeons every day.

Dr. Mills understands that the surgical experience can cause anxiety and enjoys being able to help anxious patients feel more at ease and confident. He is willing to see anyone, regardless of their oral health conditions, and is easily accessible to his patients, even if that means staying late or working weekends. Through answering questions, explaining surgery, and remaining compassionate, he provides exceptional patient experiences.

My dentist referred me to Dr. Noonan after I broke a tooth and started to have horrible pain throughout my whole jaw. They got me in within a couple days at my preferred location in Mt. Washington and have been nothing short of amazing. I barely had any wait time once I arrived, all of the staff were friendly and Dr. Noonan was great! This was my first time ever meeting him and he was so down to earth and genuine, you can tell he really cares about his patients. He made sure I knew exactly what the plan was for the procedure and what to expect afterwards. He took his time to make sure I was numb before he started. I never felt rushed one bit! 5/5 I would recommend this office and Dr. Noonan.

I did not have a very good experience at this place due to a small misunderstanding. I had an abscess tooth ...two in fact . I was in severe pain as many of you might understand if you've ever had an abscessed tooth . To give you an idea of the condition of the teeth I will explain there was no teeth just abscess roots . When I called the receptionist she ask if I had a referral from my primary dentist . I informed her ,no I did not and ask her why I needed that . I should explain here I am on Medicare with no dental insurance She stated in case there was some way to save the tooth . I replied what tooth these are abcessed roots . She then said well I have this date open . It was two weeks into the future . I wasn't pleased but I had been there before ,trusted them and knew this was as quick as I could get in anywhere .When we got there I was the last patient and it was the beginning of a three day weekend. The first thing they did was x-ray . I mentioned to the lady that did the x-ray I would sure be glad to get this out because of the severe pain . Her reply was " Oh he won't pull that tooth today this is just a consultation" . Imagine after waiting two weeks in pain and hearing we were going to talk about my tooth . When the dentist came in and I explained my assumption that I was there to get tooth removed he became impatient and abrupt with me . I tried to explain my conversation with receptionist but he really wasn't interested . His statement to me which I would have found funny if I had not been in such pain was "I only pull teeth " instead I teared up . Again I mentioned there was no tooth just root . He then told me if I didn't like it I could get my money back and leave . I told him I wasn't going to do that because of the severe pain the distance I had to drive to get there and that I had no insurance for multiple visits . He agreed to pull one of the teeth but not the one right beside it . At this point I'm tickled with any relief I might get . It took him probably 10 minutes to pull the root out . He then threw down his instruments and left the room . I never saw him again . I guess he was off to do what he had planned before I spoiled his day with my abscessed tooth . I felt horrible like I had done something wrong but when you hurt long enough you do tend to get a little hostile . I didn't feel it was his fault nor mine just a misunderstanding that could have been handled in a different way . He is a good dentist and had that tooth out of there with very minimal pain and I had no complications afterward . It cost me 500.00 dollars and an embarrassing situation but I wasn't hurting . I would never go again . Not because of his skills but because of his lack of empathy which at my age( 74) is just as important as anything else .

Great staff and service. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The procedure (extraction) went as planned with no issues. The only issue is that the price is a bit high and some of their services are not covered by insurance. Overall, they're pretty good.

We are very pleased with using Kentuckiana Oral Maxillofacial and Dental Implant Surgery for our children. We have had two children as patients there and both of their experiences were top notch! The doctors and nurses caring for them were very thorough in letting both our children and us parents know exactly how their procedures would take place and what to expect in recovery as well. We will definitely use this office again should any of our other household members need any of their services.
