Caring for patients is a family tradition in Texas for Dr. Kenneth Baker, DDS. Raquel, his wife of more than 40 years, and two of his five daughters work with him in our McAllen, TX dentist office. Raquel is our office administrator, their daughter Julie is a dental hygienist, and their daughter Lauren is our office manager.
Dr. Baker loves providing dental services for communities throughout the Texas Rio Grande Valley, including McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, Mission, Weslaco, and Rio Grande City. In fact, he has been practicing dentistry in the same location, at 5000 N. 10th Street in McAllen, since 1990.
Dr. Baker loves learning. As part of his requirements to become a Fellow and Master in the Academy of General Dentistry, he has completed more than a thousand hours of continuing education. He is also a Fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International. In addition, he has been a clinical researcher for 30 years. As a clinical evaluator for Dental Advisor, he evaluates new dental products. Because of this, youll often find him using the latest dental innovations for our patients!
A Master Naturalist, Dr. Baker loves nature, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He enjoys volunteering for Heroes on the Water, an organization that helps veterans and first responders relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through outdoor activities like kayaking and fishing. A father to five daughters, he also enjoys spending time with his three grandsons and a granddaughter.
As a young girl, Dr. Aislen Yvette Medina realized she would excel in a career using her creative mind and detail-oriented personality. Dentistry was the perfect fit. Dr. Medina completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas Pan American, then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
What sets Dr. Medina apart from most other dentists is that she completed a two-year AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency at UT Health after dental school. She invested this extra time in her education because she wanted to provide excellent care and serve her patients to the best of her abilities. Dr. Medina is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and level 3 sedation.
Dr. Medinas patients love her because she listens to their needs and works hard to provide a high level of dental care. To eliminate any confusion or surprises during procedures, she explains each step. She wants her patients to feel comfortable and happy.
Making a difference in a patients life, no matter how small or big, is what Dr. Medina loves most about her job. She enjoys being able to restore teeth and make smiles beautiful, transforming her patients confidence and improving their quality of life. She believes dentistry yields rewards and challenges along with opportunities to help people and make communities healthier.
Some members of our McAllen, TX dental team are related to each other and to Dr. Kenneth Baker. Anusha has been working in the dentistry field since 2011 and joined our team in 2017. She is certified in coronal polishing, inhalation sedation, and dental sealants. A registered dental assistant, Lauren has been a member of our team since 2016. As one of Dr. Bakers five daughters, she likes working alongside her dad, as well as her mom and one of her sisters. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with our friendly staff and long time patients. Away from the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two sons.

I have been a patient of Dr. Baker for more years than I can remember. He is by far the best, most knowledgeable, caring dentist available to patients that are fortunate to rely on him for all their dental needs. Even though I am 400 miles from home, I recently needed dental work to be done and as always Dr. Baker came to my rescue by referring me to someone in the Houston area that was able to take care of me. A simple "Thank You" is not enough to tell him how much I appreciate and rely on him and his beautiful family. Thank you so much!

I have been a patient of Dr Baker for about 3 years and I have never been disappointed. I have had multiple cleaning appointments with the dental hygienist, obtained surgery with Dr Baker in his office to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth and even had orthodontic treatment with Dr Baker. They do everything in one place. The staff that works there are very caring, understanding and professional. Also your appointment time is the time you will be seen. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic is typically not the term I've used in the past to describe a dental experience; however, I couldn't think of a better word to describe this visit! I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and Dr. Baker and Dr. Medina were top notch from beginning to end! The entire office staff was absolutely wonderful...no waiting, just an overall pleasure. It's rare to see that anymore!

Dr. Baker Deserves 10 stars. Let me tell you this . I got a phone call as scheduled, got my appointment, and from The minute I walked in Dr. Bakers office I was greeted with smiling faces and familiar faces . Julie and her Staff were amazing and very tentative. Got all the x rays done with the lastest equipment and a pain less experience. Then I meet with Dr. Baker . I was greeted with respect and comfort and any worries then went away . Dr. Baker was super Informative and after telling me my situation , wasted no time to explain my options due to nature of issue . Well fast forward one day later I had the recommended procedure done via referral, ( due to nature) NOW USUALLY that can go either way BUT !!!! Dr. BAKER ONLY DEALS WITH THE BEST AND I RECEIVED THE BEST CARE AND COULDN'T BE MUCH HAPPIER AND ALIVE THAN I AM TODAY. SO IF YOU SEE ALL THESE 5 star reviews I can tell you this , they are real and I can attest to that and DEFINITELY RECOMMEND DR. BAKER AND STAFF. And More importantly they are a family Practice.. Best dentist practice in town. Dr Kenneth Baker, Dr Medina and staff offer thorough care and expertise. The staff is considerate, professional and timely. Appointments are on time. The whole office is professional and caring from start to finish. You won't want to go anywhere else after visiting Dr baker and staff. My entire family goes here, it's a very family oriented staff and care. Top notch.

Dr. Baker is absolutely the BEST dentist I have ever encountered. I avoided visiting a dentist for quite some time, and was extremely nervous. After visiting several dentists in Mcallen, I found Dr. Baker. He was thorough, knowledgeable and genuinely caring to my needs and worries. He even called me after each procedure to check my progress. I am very thankful to have found him and his wonderful staff.

Moving to the Valley eight years ago, we asked our employees who the best dentist was in the area. They all immediately responded, "Dr. Baker!". We have since then been regular patients going for routine checkups. His service is superior to all other dentists we have seen. His staff is amazingly talented and skilled. He takes the time to explain everything in detail and has never been rushed to get out the door. All around, it is a great environment that is made up of great people. Dr. Baker and his staff are extremely kind and they went out of their way to help me feel comfortable while getting my dental work done. Normally I'm a mess with anxiety in these types of situations but I am actually looking forward to my next appointment. I really love the family vibe. I had a problem with one of my teeth. Dr. Baker got me in right away. The office was very clean, beautifully decorated, and the quality of care beyond anything I had seen in the past. The caring of everyone was just phenomenal. Dr. Baker and the entire staff are truly professional, have the highest integrity, and communicate very well with patients.
