Dr. Kenneth Thomas was raised in Eastpointe (East Detroit), Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors, double majoring in Biology and Psychology, from Adrian College in 1980 where he was an active member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He earned his Doctoral of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan in 1984. Following graduation, he began working with his uncle, Dr. Robert Colvin, DDS in Waterford, Michigan. In 2001, he moved his practice to its current location in Clarkston, Michigan. Dr. Thomas enjoys getting to know his patients and takes the time to explain treatment options clearly before proceeding. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Oakland County Dental Society. He has kept up to date with continuing education classes and state-of-the-art techniques to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. As a testament of this, he has been credentialed as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Thomas has been voted an Hour Detroit Magazine Top Dentist for 13 consecutive years. Top Dentist is an extensive peer review survey in which dentists and specialists in the greater Detroit area cast votes on the abilities of other dentists and specialists, and because listings cannot be purchased, inclusion in Top Dentist is considered an honor. He is honored to be recognized by his peers for his outstanding work ethic and devotion to his patients.
Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his family: wife, Vicki and two children, Courtney and Dr. Matthew Thomas, DDS. He is an avid University of Michigan football fan and enjoys gardening (re-landscaping) and traveling.
Dr. Matthew Thomas was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and raised in Waterford and Ortonville. He graduated from Brandon High School in 2007. During high school, he played on the Brandon High School Varsity soccer team as well as the nationally ranked Vardar Soccer club. In 2011, Dr. Matt (as he is affectionately called) graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While at Adrian College, Dr. Matt played on the Varsity soccer team and was an active member of the Theta Chi fraternity. In 2017, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, Oakland County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Matt is an outdoor/sports enthusiast. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, kayaking, snowboarding, golfing and playing softball and soccer.

Sara is our Insurance and Scheduling Coordinator and Receptionist. She has worked in the dental profession for over 16 years, joining our practice in 2014. She enjoys getting to know all of our patients and takes care of all their scheduling needs and insurance/billing questions. Sara resides in Waterford with her husband, son and dog, Stanley. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, movies, sports and volunteering in the community.
Vicki graduated from Adrian College with a degree in Sociology. It was at Adrian College that she met Kenneth Thomas and the rest is history. She has been working at our office for over 11 years as a Receptionist and Office Manager. She loves our patients and focuses on making sure they have a positive experience from the minute they walk into the office to the moment they leave. In her spare time, Vicki enjoys traveling, spending time with her family (son, Dr. Matt and daughter, Courtney), theater and all things musical (concerts, singing, etc.).
Kayla graduated from Ross Medical School in 2017. Kayla does her best to have a gentle and compassionate chairside manner to help each patient. Kayla enjoys being with her family and participating in outdoor adventures.
Daniela joined our team in April of 2018. She graduated from Washtenaw Community College in 2000 and has 14 years of dental experience. Daniela enjoys connecting with and building trust with our patients and is passionate about helping them maintain healthy smiles. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her 3 daughters and husband. Danielas many years of experience working in general dentistry is an asset to our practice.
Tracey has been working in the Dental field for 26 years as a Dental Assistant, the last 18 of which have been spent at our office. She loves our doctors compassionate and caring attitude towards our patients. For the last 3 years she combined work and school, attending Oakland Community College and graduating cum laude in 2018 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Going back to school to further her education is a priority. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association. She has 3 grown children, Steve, Cora and Brianna, and a menagerie of animals. She loves being able to help patients improve their smiles and explain and answer any procedural questions.
Shawna began in the dental field as a Hygiene Coordinator and Assistant while she worked toward her degree in Dental Hygiene. She graduated from Baker College in 2014 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and is certified in local anesthesia. Since becoming a Hygienist, Shawna has subbed for several Dentists and when she joined our practice in 2014 she knew this is where she wanted to stay. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and dog.
Heather stared working for Dr. Thomas in April of 2018. She has worked in Dentistry since 1991, first as a Dental Assistant then graduating in 2000 from Oakland Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and is certified in local anesthesia. Heather is a caring health provider who enjoys getting to know her patients as well as providing treatment. She believes good communication is essential to build trust and deliver oral health protocols. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her son, all things summer and being active in her church. She loves her profession and people.
