Barry P. Smith, DDS Owner, Dentist Dr. Barry Smith has been practicing dentistry for 25 years. He is a native Cobb Countian and wanted to open his practice in the area in which he was most familiar. He graduated from Sprayberry High School, Reinhart College and University of Georgia prior to receiving his Doctorate Degree from Emory Universitys School of Dentistry in 1987.
Dr. Smiths special interest is restoring a patients smile. He is a firm believer in the saying, Your smile is the window to your soul. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and DOCS (sedation dentistry). Dr. Smith enjoys hunting, fishing and most all other outdoor activities. He is a football fan (especially for the UGA Bulldogs GO DAWGS).
It is important to me that our patients feel comfortable and relaxed while in our office. We wish to provide a modern office while incorporating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Sharing smiles is our goal at Kennestone Dental Designs.
Dale Adkisson, DMD Associate Dentist Dr. Dale Adkisson, a native Georgian, graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1980 and has practiced in Cobb County his entire career. He enjoys tennis, running, college football and travel. His children are grown and he hopes to soon be old enough to have grandchildren. He and wife Kris live in Marietta and are active at Marietta First Baptist Church.
Christy Laughridge, RDH Registered Dental Hygienist Christy has lived in Cobb County for most of her life. She joined Kennestone Dental Designs in 2009 after graduating at the top of her class from West Georgia Technical College with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Kennesaw State University. Her passion is helping patients understand the importance of their dental health while providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for each patient.
Victoria Ham, RDH Registered Dental Hygienist Victoria Tori Ham joined the hygiene department at Kennestone Dental Designs in 2017. She is a true Texan, but has grown to love Georgia as her second home. She received her Associates Degree in 2013 and was also awarded the prestigious Colgate Star Award. In 2014, she received her Bachelors of Science degree at the Medical College of Georgia and was also on the Deans List.
Tori began her dental career in 2007 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She has an in-depth understanding and appreciation for all aspects of dentistry. Tori specializes in caring for those with dental anxiety.
Becky Beyer, RDH Dental Hygienist Becky started working in the health care field at the age of 15. During that time she developed a passion for helping others and a desire to follow in her mothers foot steps and become a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Prairie State College in 2014 and practiced in Chicago before moving to Atlanta in the Spring of 2019. Becky truly cares about her patients and is committed to providing the best care for them. She is very excited to be a part of our team and to work with other kind, like-minded individuals. In her spare time she enjoys checking out new restaurants, being outdoors, traveling and visiting with her friends and family.
Dena Starnes Dental Assistant Dena has been in dentistry for over thirteen years. She truly enjoys patient care and getting to know patients and their families. She is a Georgian native of Cobb County. She enjoys dental missions locally and far from home. She has been married for eleven years to Kelly and has a wonderful stepson Gabriel. They have a chocolate lab named Hershey and two cats Edgar and Siggy. In her free time she enjoys painting, home improvement projects, missions and cooking.
Ivelina Abbott Dental Assistant Iva was born and raised in Bulgaria. She moved to Georgia in 2011. In 2014, she graduated from Fortis College as a Dental Assistant and began her career at Kennestone Dental Designs. Iva loves working with a family orientated practice and a tight knit team.
Nicole Smith Front Office Coordinator Nicole Nikki Smith has been working in the dental field since 2011. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in English and joined the Kennestone Dental Designs team in 2015. She enjoys working with the patients in understanding their dental needs.
Misty Carney Office Manager Misty started her dental career in 2013 and has been with Kennestone Dental Designs since 2017. She was born and raised in Cobb County where she met her husband of 14 years. She lived in Virginia for 5 years with her husband while he was in the United States Navy. The couple moved back to Woodstock, GA in 2008 and has been there ever since with their four legged child, Lola.
Kelly Durbin Front Office Coordinator Kelly has 30+ years of experience in the dental field working front office. She started working for Kennestone Dental Designs in July of 2020. Her goal is to make everyone that she comes in contact with feel like they are the most important person she has the pleasure of helping. Kelly has been married to Rocky with one daughter named Kristen. They have lived in Kennesaw the majority of their married live. She enjoys working with the children at her church and doing crafty projects for around the house with her daughter.
