In 1952, he rose through the ranks to become the President of the WV Dental Association. He was one of the state's dental leaders that, during this time frame, hired the Association's first Executive Secretary and established a Central Office. He also influenced the decision to locate the Annual Session permanently at the Greenbrier after the first meeting was held there in 1952.
Dr. Carl Lemley Kennedy and Mary Eugenia Cross were married on June 6, 1929. Shortly after, Dr. Kennedy graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry. In July 1929 they came to Montgomery, WV after purchasing a dental practice from a retiring dentist. Dr. Kennedy's practice soon grew to ten employees. His ability to organize, delegate and supervise promoted his practice to one of considerable state and national acclaim.
It was during this time that Dr. Kennedy worked with others to locate the WVU Medical Center in Morgantown. He recruited Dr. J. Ben Robinson, a native West Virginian, esteemed educator and retired dental dean of University of Maryland, School of Dentistry to become the first dean of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry (WVUSD).
Dr. Kennedy joined the Montgomery Lions Club and was soon elevated to the office of International Director and then to the position of Chairman of the Board of Governors of Lions International. He was encouraged to seek the position of International President but chose instead to attend to the duties associated with serving his growing family and dental practice.
Dr. and Mrs. Kennedy had three sons, Carl, Nat and Hugh. Of their eight grandchildren, three became dentists and one of these three married a dentist. One great-grandson is a dentist and he also married a dentist. All of the dentists are WVUSD graduates except Dr. Carl Lee Kennedy, a 1957 graduate of Northwestern University.

They are constantly rescheduling appointments making being a patient of theirs highly inconvenient. It took 4 reschedules for my last appointment and now a simple cleaning has been rescheduled twice. They time it's weeks or months of additional waiting time just to get simple procedures done.

As always, my experience with my hygienist (Amy) was great. She is a true professional and always treats me with care and respect. Dentist Jim "ain't" too shabby either. Another true professional who gives me his total attention when he checks Amy's work.

This is the best dental practice I've ever been to, been coming here for several years now, Dr. Andy and Dr Jim are the best! And Amy at the front desk is so helpful with any and everything you might have a question about, and the dental hygienists are awesome, just a nice clean and friendly place all around, I highly recommend!!

Wonderful Dentist and Staff. Broke a tooth in half late one night and was in their office the next morning by 10. Dr. Kennedy had to pull the tooth but explained all options and made a referral for an implant anchor but he'll put in the new tooth. The staff is friendly and greets by name from the time you walk in the door. Nice facility that's kept clean and organized. I had to shop around for the perfect Dentist and office staff and I've done well.

I had to find a new Dentist since my dentist retired three years ago. I went to others, but none came close to my old dentist until now; Kennedy Dental is great. They make you feel comfortable and very welcome in their office. I am so glad to be a new patient.

I love Kennedy Dental. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They make me feel so comfortable and at ease from the moment I walk in the door. I have had a poor dental experience in the past with another dentist and I'm so happy to have finally found a dentist that is so gentle and able to make me feel at ease.

I am a recent new patient at Kennedy Dental and I definitely will be going there long term. I don't remember my hygienists name but she was the sweetest and very informative. Dr. Jim was also friendly. I was very comfortable which eased my anxiety about going to the dentist. I'm so glad I chose to come here.

Dr Jim is awesome. He eases my dental anxiety and I have high dental anxiety. The staff is super nice and welcoming. Jennifer does my teeth cleanings and I just love talking to her. Really great atmosphere.
