Anyone who knows Dr. Ken knows that he is absolutely passionate about dentistry and helping his patients have great oral health. He takes many courses each year to learn the latest techniques to keep you as healthy as possible. Dr. Ken loves to take classes and purchase the latest in dental technology to benefit our patients. He is always searching for ways to make dentistry more accessible to his patients.

Our practice is focused on providing complete dental solutions with Invisalign, dental implants, porcelain veneers, cosmetic crowns and fillings, porcelain inlays/ onlays, bridges and dentures. We provide complete restorative services for you and your family that include oral hygiene maintenance (cleanings), treatment for gum infection, surgical services including tooth removal, cosmetic recontouring of gums with dental lasers, and root canals. We offer oral medications to relax you and nitrous oxide sedation as well for our nervous or anxious patients.

After finishing his undergraduate degree at James Madison University, Dr. Copeland (better known as Dr. Ken to his patients) graduated from the Medical College of Virginia Dental School at VCU in 1987. He then went into private practice with his father where he received an excellent background in performing the highest quality dental procedures with the latest technology. In 1996, Dr. Ken completed a year long mini-residency for the American Academy of Implant Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Ken moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 1999 and has been practicing dentistry here since then. He is a member of Academy of General Dentistry and is a certified Invisalign Preferred Provider. Dr. Ken is active in the Donated Dental Services program and volunteers at the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County Free Clinic to provide dental treatment for those less fortunate. He and his wife Beth are very active in raising their children and in their church. He enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities in his free time including hunting, fishing, four wheeling, horseback riding, and scuba diving. Dr. Ken works hard to establish a rapport with his patients to make them feel comfortable with their decisions regarding their dental health and treatment as well. Patient education is an important aspect of our practice. Dr. Ken believes he has a great team of staff members who all work hard to provide excellent dental treatment to his patients

Beth is our Practice Administrator and is Dr. Ken's wife. She is responsible for patient relations, quality control, staff training, and business administration. Beth graduated from West Virginia University with a Masters in Mathematics in 1997. She taught math at Turner Ashby High School for eight years before joining Dr. Ken's staff. She also has experience working for a third-party ESOP administration company. When she is not at the office, she enjoys volunteering at her children's schools, cooking, scrapbooking, playing with their 9 younger children, and completing Sudoko puzzles. Beth, having been an Invisalign patient herself, is a major advocate of the benefits and ease of Invisalign. If you have questions regarding Invisalign, insurance coverage, or your account, Beth is always happy to help answer your questions. She will work hard to help you find a way to afford the care you need and deserve.

Lisa is our Office Manager. She is available to help our patients on most office-related matters, including better understanding their insurance benefits and their financial options. She assists our patients in scheduling their treatment to meet both their budget and dental needs. Lisa is originally from Massachusetts but refers to the Shenandoah Valley as her home. She graduated from Harrisonburg High School and went on to marry her high school sweetheart while completing her Bachelors Degree in Atlanta, Georgia. Together, they have a 3 year old son, Julius, who is the light of their lives. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching football and journaling. Lisa appreciates the little things in life and you will always catch her with a smile on her face. Lisa is excited about working in the dental field and the new chapter that started this year when she joined our team. She is committed to helping our patients better understand their insurance and attain their dental goals. Dawn is a Registered Dental Hygienist who joined our staff at Ken Copeland Family Dentistry in September 2007. Prior to that, she had worked with Dr. Ken while he was employed at Copeland Family Dentistry. She is a local Valley girl who graduated from Spotswood High School in 1989 and received an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Lord Fairfax via VWCC in 2002. Dawn is CPR and Radiology Certified. Prior to becoming a hygienist, Dawn worked as a Dental Assistant for 9 years. She has been married for over 19 years to Shannon Lokey and has two teenagers (a son age 16 and a daughter age 13). Dawn is very active and loves being with her family and enjoys life to the fullest. She loves taking photos, hiking/walking (doing just about anything outside), working out, and cooking/baking. Angela and Dawn have the same philosophy about oral hygiene and work together to help all patients feel comfortable and to assist them in maintaining their oral hygiene.
