Dr. Kempeinen attended the University of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Following graduation, he began his career in private practice and later served for three years as the Dental Director at the Bay Mills Health Center in northern Michigan. He was also an adjunct faculty member of the University of Michigan. Dr. Kempeinen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Central District Dental Society.

Outside of his career in dentistry, Dr. Kempeinen enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is married to Dr. Katie Kempeinen and together they have a son, Luke and a daughter, Sarah. Dr. Kempeinen's personal interests include spending time outdoorsmountainbiking, cross-country skiing, hiking, hunting, and fishing.

Dr. Katie Kempeinen grew up in Pinckney, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Biochemistry with Honors. She continued at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she graduated near the top of her class in 2011. She is a member of the American, Michigan and Central District Dental Societies.

Dr. Katie and her husband (Dr. Dave) have two children, Luke and Sarah. Besides spending time with her family, Dr. Katie likes to try new recipes, camp, hike and has recently become interested in photography.
