Dr. Kelly Shaw graduated with his dental degree from the University of the Pacific in 1983. Prior to studying at dental school he attended and graduated from Long Beach State University with a B.S degree in Marine Biology. Dr. Shaw has been practicing for over 35 years. He has been in his current location Kailua-Kona since 2004. Dr. Shaw also advanced post doctoral training at L.V.I training in endodontics and a mini residency in dental implants. Since he began practicing dentistry Dr. Shaw has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.
Dr. Shaw has been married to his wife for over 35 years and they have 3 children together. Ted who lives in Oahu and works for HECO, Katie who is a physical therapist for Kaiser in Hilo and Nick is going to college in California. In his spare Dr Shaw enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Also he enjoys surfing, hiking, biking and diving.

Wonderful, caring and beautiful people! From the very first phone call, where I had the pleasure with speaking with Sharon, I knew this could be my new dental office. She was just super friendly, very helpful and caring throughout our phone conversation. I was scheduled for my appointment with Dr Shaw for my new patient exam and a cleaning to follow within a few weeks. When I arrived for my appointment, both Sharon and Brandi greeted me with smiles, making me feel welcomed right away. I was taken back quickly and seated in the exam room. Leah was his assistant who took my x rays and was very sweet. She was very quick making sure not to gag me when doing those molar x rays. YAY LEAH! Dr Shaw was a pleasure to meet and the exam was very thorough. He was patient and during the exam I never felt like he was rushed. He would stop, explain things and answer all my questions. Now for the best part of my appointment! There was a cancelation for a cleaning that day and since I was there, they moved my appointment up. So I met David the hygienist that would be cleaning my teeth. Again...SUPER nice person. David went to work on my dirty mouth and it was the BEST cleaning I've EVER had! I never felt hurried and he took his time. Mahalo Dr Shaw for providing such a fantastic office and staff! I ABSOLUTELY love my new dental office!

One should not have to move to Hawaii to find a great dental provider like Dr. Shaw and his team. The service is phenom and the peripheral things (scheduling, text reminders, etc) are state of the art. Best dentistry experience I've ever had...

They are always friendly and accommodating. They kept assuring me it would soon be my turn. You do not feel forgotten even if they are a bit behind. Vickie I recently had a crown fall out and Dr. Shaw came in on Saturday morning to cement it back in. Not all professionals are willing to come in on a day off. Very much appreciated.

Sharon the Amazing receptionist goes above and beyond to make sure she can help you with any of your scheduling needs. That in itself would make me be a repeat patient because she's the gate keeper and the first person you encounter before getting in that chair. All the staff and Dr Shaw has that aloha spirit and pretty thorough. I'm so very pleased I found them.
