Dr. Kelly completed her undergraduate studies and finished with honors and high distinction at Penn State University. Then she attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While at UConn Dental, Dr. Kelly was chosen to receive the Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Award from the Governor of Connecticut.
Following dental school, Dr. Kelly was accepted into the prestigious Department of Orthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University. There she completed her Master of Science in dentistry. Her masters research, Parents preferences regarding appearance and attire of orthodontists, was recently published in the Angle Orthodontist, a prominent orthodontic journal.
A Connecticut native who spent her childhood in Maine, Dr. Gillian Kelly graduated from Winslow High School. She and her husband, Dr. Michael Kelly (the other Dr. Kelly in the practice!) enjoy spending time with their families, especially their three daughters Maggie, Celia and Eliza. They also love traveling the world, swimming at Bashan Lake, skiing at Sugarloaf, and cheering for the UConn Huskies!
Both Drs. Kelly love giving back and helping others. The couple has participated in numerous service projects locally and internationally. They have been part of volunteer teams that offer dental care through the Connecticut State Dental Associations Give Kids a Smile program.
Connecticut native Dr. Michael T. Kelly enjoys helping his patients realize their dreams of straight teeth and beautiful smiles. He offers advanced orthodontic care, with a treatment approach thats tailored to each patients specific concerns. Dr. Kelly attended the University of Connecticut in the honors program for his undergraduate studies. He graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Accepted at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Kelly was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Society. Also, he received the Alpha Omega award for achieving the highest academic ranking in his class.
Dr. Kelly was accepted into the orthodontic residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This is one of the most well-respected orthodontic residency programs in the world. Upon completion of the program, he received his Master of Science and orthodontic specialty certificate.
Since he believes that continuing education is the only way to provide patients with the most advanced care, Dr. Kelly completes many postgraduate courses each year. This ensures each patient receives the best treatment approach to create a lasting, wonderful smile. As a result of his continuing education, Dr. Kelly is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Kelly grew up in North Haven and graduated from North Haven High School. He and his wife, Dr. Gillian Kelly (the other Dr. Kelly in the practice), enjoy quality time with their families, especially with their three daughters - Maggie,Celia and Eliza.They also love traveling the world, swimming at Bashan Lake, and skiing at Sugarloaf. Most important, they love rooting for the UConn Huskies!
The Drs. Kelly strongly believe in giving back to and helping others. Together, they have donated time and expertise to local and international service projects. They have volunteered with other oral health professionals to provide dental care through the Connecticut State Dental Associations Give Kids a Smile program. They have also volunteered with the CT Mission of Mercy, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and the Harvard Pilgrim Middletown Half Marathon.
During their studies at the University of Connecticut, the doctors participated in a dental service trip to Paraguay. There, they provided life-changing dental care to members of underserved communities.

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABOs aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.
To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years to maintain board-certified status.
Dr. Michael Kelly is aboard-certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and has been voluntarily examined by hispeers on the basis of knowledge and clinical skills. Becoming board certified signifies the orthodontists pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.

Kelly Orthodontics's is the premier provider in the great Middlesex County area! My experience both for my two children and then myself has been exceptional. Kelly Family Orthodontics is the best of the best for both kids and adults!! I highly recommend them for anybody looking to straighten and realign teeth. I was completely amazed by the transformation of my smile in just over a year with Invisalign. Every staff member and both Dr. Kelly's are the most incredible people who treat you like royalty every time that you visit. They answer any question that you might have and put you at ease with any concerns that you might have.

Kelly Family Ortho is amazing. We have been coming since 2014 with 3 children the last of whom just got them off on 2/2022. KFO worked with my financially as I put braces on 2 of my children at the same time. I never had any pressure to put down a huge deposit or make a huge monthly payment. They worked out a financial plan that was affordable for my family. They were always on time for my kids appointments. Office staff always friendly and accomodating. Their new office is amazing too. Both Dr. Michael and Gillian took the time with each child during their visit. It was not like a revolving door like some orthodontist are. I would HIGHLY recommed Kelly Family Orthodontics. Kelly family orthodontics is fantastic on so many levels. You are treated with kindness by everyone there. They pay great attention to detail, and have wonderful follow up on care. Our daughters smile came out perfect. Besides the high quality of work they do, they have added countless personal touches to their practice that make you feel very comfortable and well cared for. From a personal note card when braces went on, to chapsticks along the way, remembering details about your family, and past conversations..:..it's truly a very unique and special practice. I'm so pleased with my experience at Kelly Family Orthodontics. I came here for my Invisalign treatment and i'm more than happy with how my teeth turned out. The consultation process was easy and informative, and very comfortable. I had multiple check ups every 10 weeks and the check in process is easy and they are ALWAYS on time. I've never had to wait for Dr. Kelly for more than 2-3 minutes upon my arrival. Their process is very organized, clean, and enjoyable. All of the staff there are great and VERY friendly! I'm extremely pleased with my teeth. When Dr. Kelly originally consulted with me, he estimated my treatment would take 1.5 years with my open bite and bottom crowding. My treatment ended up taking 1 year because of how efficient this treatment was. And especially because I wore it with enough time in the day (22 hours) as directed by Dr. Kelly. I appreciate that he did make sure to overestimate the time of treatment just in case there were any complications or my teeth moved slower, because everyone is different! When I first got my aligners and my first tray, we needed small clear brackets on my teeth to latch on to the aligners for an efficient process of moving my teeth, i didnt love this, and Dr. Kelly knew this, but he assured me it would help the process move much quicker, and it would be worth it in the end. He was right! It was so worth it and my teeth moved so nicely together and im now so much more confident with my smile. They also were very flexible with payment plans. Overall, I highly highly recommend Kelly Family orthodontics to ANYONE! Thank you so much!

I HIGHLY recommend Kelly Family Orthodontics! I have been a patient since 2020 when I inquired about Invisalign. Dr. Gillian Kelly and her team are FANTASTIC! They walked me through the process, were transparent about the cost, and ensured all of my questions were answered. I proceeded, and couldn't be happier. Their office is efficient, spotless, technologically advanced, and the staff makes you feel like a good friend. If I had questions along the way, I was able to get prompt responses via text. I completed my treatment yesterday, and am thrilled with my new smile! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I STRONGLY recommend Kelly Family Orthodontics!!!

DON'T BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!!! THEY ARE PAID FOR! THEY HAVE TO BE! I can't believe my experience at Dr Kelly's; between not being called back, to being humiliated on the phone over my insurance, this office proves to unreliable and horrible. Wouldn't go back, even when I straighten out my insurance, if my life depended on it.
