After completing dental school at the University of Tennessee in 1953, Dr. Joseph L. Kellum began his practice of dentistry in Tupelo at Kellum Clinic. Kellum Clinic began when Dr. Joes father, Dr. Henry J. Kellum, Sr., started his medical practice as an ophthamologist. As the sons of Dr. Kellum, Sr.,completed medical school, they entered into their respective practices at Kellum Clinic. Kellum Clinic has seen the practices of Dr. Henry J. Kellum, Sr. ophthamology, his sons Dr. Henry J. Kellum, Jr. General Medicine, Dr. Agrippa S. Kellum, Sr. Surgery, Dr. William C. Kellum, Sr. Internal Medicine, Dr. Joseph L. Kellum, Sr. Dentistry, as well as Dr. Bills son, Dr. William C. Kellum, Jr. Internal Medicine, and for a short time Dr. Joes son, Dr. Joseph L. Kellum, Jr. Dentistry. Many patients were served over the years at the old Kellum Clinic.
In 1976, Kellum Dental Clinic began as a separate building adjacent to the old Kellum Clinic. Dr. Joe continued his practice of dentistry until retiring in 1998. During this time, Dr. Joe had the opportunity to practice dentistry with threeof his sons. Dr. Joseph L. Kellum, Jr., Dr. Daniel H. Kellum, and Dr. Thomas N. Kellum. All fourof these dentists received a DDS degree from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Les began his dental practice in 1976 and practiced until 1984 before returning to medical school. Dr. Dan began his dental practice in 1978 and Dr. Tom began his dental practice in 1990. Dr. Dan and Dr. Tom continue to practice dentistry together as Kellum Dental Clinic.

This is my Fiances Primary Dental Clinic, and for the last few years they either cancel his appointments, the Dr. isn't in or when he gets to his appointment they don't do any work because "the treatment plan is expired" . He's been needing to get the old black fillings removed for a while now and he was supposed to have them replaced with the white up to date fillings. They are sweet and pleasant but when it comes to this treatment they keep telling him his treatment plan went out. He had an appointment on Monday, 23 May to get this work done, they called him Friday and told him the plan was expired, they could sent it up and it might be approved for Monday. Monday got here and no approval. He's with Blue Cross Blue Shield and we are not understanding the disconnect. Seems like a lot of run around and inconsistency according to him so we're trying to find someone else to do the work. There is no reason in these last two years he hadn't been able to get this work complete.

Every time I go, I am always treated like family! Amanda, Tammy, Dr Tom....EVERYONE!! Y'all are the best. I have been to other dentists in Tupelo- they don't even come close to the care I have received at Kellum Dental Clinic. The smile is an important part of someone. Thanks for caring for mine!

If you are an adult and have United Healthcare MCAN don't even bother making an appointment. After spending half the day driving there, and gas money I did not have to just throw away like that, they told me that with that insurance they can only chose by law to take adults OR children so they chose to take children. That's fine if they just want to take children but they should be honest with people when they call to make an appointment. I called another dental clinic and they take BOTH adults and children with that insurance. No need for the stories, just be honest and say you don't want to see adults with that insurance.
