Dr. Sara Kellogg is proud to provide all aspects of comprehensive dentistry to Jackson county and surrounding areas. She loves practicing patient centered dentistry and partnering with her patients to create customized, comprehensive individualized care. Dr. Kellogg believes that while in her care, patients should feel safe, well-informed and heard. She believes that optimal oral health is critically important and that everyone should have the opportunity to fully understand their own state of health.

Dr. Kellogg is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She graduated near the top of her class and was awarded the Comprehensive Care Award by her faculty members. Immediately following dental school, she completed a residency program at the University of Michigan and VA Hospitals in Ann Arbor. She continues to be actively involved with her alma mater as a member of the Board of Governors at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Kellogg is a Michigan native and has practiced in the greater Jackson area since the onset of her career. She grew up in a small town in the thumb of Michigan and has always loved being a small-town girl.

Dr. Sara is married and is the proud mother of two children, Trenton and Devyn. When she isnt practicing dentistry, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She takes great joy in chasing her children around all of their activities and in particular loves watching them play sports. She loves being involved and enjoys coaching her daughters basketball team. In her (limited) spare time, she loves traveling, reading, running outside and on her Peloton!

Dr. David Latz is a native to Michigan. He grew up on a farm 5 miles outside of Elsie. After attending the University of Michigan Flint for his undergraduate studies and completing Dental School at the University of Ann Arbor in 1975, he started his practice in Jackson and has been here ever since.

While Dr. Latz was in dental school his father had his teeth removed. After graduating, Dr. Latz discovered that it would have been possible to have saved his fathers teeth. That was pivotal in developing a philosophy of helping people maintain their teeth for a lifetime. Dr. Latz was able to restore his mothers teeth and maintained them for the rest of her life after restoring her mouth in 1977.

Because of his early experience in his familys dental health, he studied at the L.D. Pankey Institute where he refined his ability to help people. After attending all their courses, Dr. Latz was asked to become a visiting faculty member and remains as such to this day. He also leads dental study clubs across North America that focus on the teachings of the Pankey Institute (occlusion, restorative and maintenance of of a persons dental and physical health).

Dr. Latz lives on 100 acres near Tompkins Center with his wife, Virginia. He has 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. His spare time is spent outside biking, skiing, hunting with his English Setter, and driving his John Deere tractor. Inside he enjoys woodworking and reading by a warm fire. In his retirement he enjoys consulting with other dentists on becoming independent of insurance.

I began my career in dentistry in 2003 as a co-op student through Career Center. I began working full-time after graduation and then went to Washtenaw Community College where I obtained my license as a Registered Dental Assistant. My favorite part of what I do is helping people get healthy, whether its relieving their headaches with a bite splint, taking care of a toothache or seeing them smile bigger than they have in years when we give them their smile back.

In 1985 I received my certificate in Dental Assisting from Washtenaw Community College and began working for Dr. Latz as a chairside assistant. I returned to college at LCC and received my associates in Dental Hygiene in 1991 and worked until 2017. I left dentistry to work in financial planning, returning in 2020 to work with Kellogg and Latz as a hygienist. I enjoy working with patients to help them discover their individual path to their health goals and have in turn learned so much from my patients throughout this journey.

I started at the Jackson Area Career Center in 1979, where I observed Dr. Latz in a work study program. I was hired as a dental assistant and encouraged to continue my education to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. I graduated in 1983 and feel fortunate to have provided dental care in several different areas of dentistry. These include pediatric dentistry, periodontal dentistry and geriatric dentistry. I enjoy my profession and continuing to work about my field and how to better serve my patients. I live in Concord with my husband Tim, son Jesse and daughter CarolAnn
