Dr. Shaikh grew up in the bustling city of Lahore, Pakistan. Belonging to a family of educators, lawyers and physicians she chose dentistry because of her fascination of combining science and art to create a beautiful smile and transforming human experiences. She has given dental care to the underprivileged in Pakistan and she continues to participate in community dentistry in Chicago. She has extensive training in oral surgery, Invisalign, full mouth rehab and is big on continual education in dentistry as well as alternative medicine and staying in-touch with the latest in cutting-edge technology and combining it with her practice.
Dr. Shaikh is one of only a handful of dentists in the U.S. trained on 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), as well as its application with CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). These technologies together allow Dr. Shaikh to produce a 3D model of the patient so she can simulate and perfect the dentistry on a virtual model first, and then transfer it to the patient for treatment.
Dr. Shaikh established Kedzie Dental Clinic with the philosophy of minimally invasive dentistry with state of the art technology and combining earthen elements to create an atmosphere that is very conducive to healing. What sets her apart from other dentists is her caring and compassionate nature of treating patients with the upmost care in a very friendly, comfortable and relaxing environment.
Welcome our new periodontist Dr. Salvador Nares at Kedzie Dental Clinic! Dr. Nares specializes and incorporates the latest advances in gum surgeries, bone graft and implant placements in treatment of our patients.
After earning his DDS, PhD, and Certificate of Specialty in Periodontology from the Baylor College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University in Dallas, Dr. Nares completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Oral Infection and Immunity Branch of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research of the National Institutes of Health (NIDCR/NIH) at Bethesda, MD. Dr. Nares is the author of numerous articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a member of the American Dental Association and the International and American Associations for Dental Research, and serves as Reviewer for numerous scientific and clinical journals.
Dr. Nares has been married to his wife Celia for 27 years. Together they have 3 active teenage daughters. They enjoy exploring the many culinary experiences in the Chicagoland area, a night at the movies and traveling.
Please meet the newest addition to Kedzie Dental Clinic Family, Anika Ahmad. She was born in Lahore, Pakistan and raised in New York. She graduated from Briarcliffe College in NY. Anika has been practicing dental hygiene for over 7 years and is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi. She is compassionate about educating and treating patients on their oral hygiene and always guides them in prevention of periodontal disease. Her positive attitude and gentle approach to dentistry assures that you will be at ease throughout every step. In her spare time, Anika enjoys cooking and blogging about recipes, traveling and exploring new cities and restaurants with her husband!
Meet Melissa Rodriguez, one of our lovely dental assistants! By far one of the sweetest souls ever, Melissa is most well known for her caring, yet professional, demeanor. She has been working steadily in the field for over 10 years and the ease with which she is able to perform procedures has kept her in high demand. She has a natural talent for putting kids at ease and making sure their Kedzie Dental experience is easy and fun! Her aspiration is to pursue higher education in the form of hygiene school. Melissa is a die-hard sports fan (go Dodgers!), and as such makes it her mission to hit everything she does out of the park! With her spare time, Melissa can be found exploring new Chicago eatery, traveling to warm and exotic places, or curled up with a good book.
Meet Nejla Dzafic, the newest addition to our dental assistant team! Nejla was born in Bosnia and immigrated to Chicago as a child where she has been ever since. A recent graduate from Northwestern University, Nejla is pursuing a career in dentistry and is currently applying to dental school. She enjoys seeing our diverse patient population and loves collaborating with our talented team. In her free time, Nejla enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going for a run, and reading the latest novels on her Kindle.
Please meet our talented Business Development Manager Agnes Beymer. Agnes is a first-generation immigrant who was born in Lithuania and moved to the United States fifteen years ago. She spent the last fifteen years working in the dental industry and her vivacious and passionate personality allowed for her to constantly move upwards until she became the manager. She has been in management for the past ten years and her wonderful ability to work with patients is a testament to her years of experience in the field. Agnes provides training for employees and works in the development and maintenance of office systems. Additionally, she is pursuing an accounting degree at DePaul University. Her hobbies include scouting the best restaurants in the Chicagoland area, reading, and traveling. A fun fact about Agnes is that she has made it a personal goal to visit fifty countries by the age of fifty and she is well underway of meeting that goal, having already visited thirty-one countries so far!
Please meet our awesome Administrator Monserat Morales. She is our youngest team member who is a true Chicagoan; was born and raised here. Monse is the one who will greet you and help you with insurance questions and concerns. Currently, she is taking classes at Morton College and planning to pursue her career in Psychology. Most of her free time, she spends time with her family, enjoys long walks and romantic movies on cold winter nights.

Dr. Shaikh, Dr. Aliya and their team is the best my entire family went there for the first time and honestly have never experienced such a great service ever! The best dental office in the City of Chicago! Everyone is very attentive and makes you feel comfortable. I never liked the dentist until I started going to go here, All the work they have done for me and my family has been perfect. I highly recommend Kedzie Dental Clinic.

Where do I start? Dr Shaikh and her staff are amazing! I recently had a much needed root canal and the experience was far from negative. My wisdom tooth was killing me and I was recommended to Kedzie Dental from a friend. I called and asked if they accepted medicade and luckily for me they do. When i first walked by i thought it was a building complex but it definitely was the Kedzie dental . I love how you have to be buzzed in to enter the building, with everything thats going on in this world it made me feel pretty safe. So I walked in and first thing I noticed is this beautiful atmosphere. Beautiful couch, stunning coffee table and crystals. Monse and Seema in the front checked me in and had me sign some paperwork through the phone which was super convenient and way to save the turtles (going paper less).When I sat down after checking in I was in a room right away. I was seated by Greice and chatted for a bit and was recommended Invisalign. Honestly my teeth have been my biggest insecurities and to finally do something about it made me feel like I had help to achieve a goal I've been talking about for years! After That Dr. Shaikh came in numbed me up before getting the extraction done. And 1,2,3 done. No pain just lots of laughs throughout the office with the whole staff. Now its time to get a teeth cleaning.... So i smoke and yes i get stains but let me tell you something. Seema got these stains out of my teeth! I had a extra boost of Confidence I couldn't believe she really got them out because I've had other Dentist told me they couldn't be able to do that. (Kedzie Dental can) I feel like Kedzie Dental really builds a bond with you and makes you feel like family. 2 weeks after my visit i get a text message saying your Invisalign's are in. Woot woot ! When I say they build a bond and do an amazing job, they really do. I met a lady there that comes all the way from Indiana for years, just because they are they best Buzzed in, Same process, fill out paperwork online. Check in, sit down, stand back up because there usually ready for you. Mellisa brings me back and is informing me about the process and the results and good stuff. Yes it hurts in the beginning but honestly you get use to it and the result are amazing. I am so thankful and grateful my friend recommended me to them because i don't know another business that is this kind, loving and professional. Thanks for staying in a committed relationship with me for the rest of my life!
