Since 1983, our locally and family-owned dental office has been the area's premier general practice. No matter what kind of dental services you need, the friendly, courteous, and accommodating staff at Keary A. Bewick D.D.S. will go above and beyond to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Dr Bewick grew up in Northwest Indiana, Miller area, and graduated from Chesterton High School. He went on to Valparaiso University, and Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee, majoring in chemistry. Dr. Bewick attended Loyola University to pursue his dental career, graduating in 1983. Dr. Bewick returned to his roots and community to practice for 25 years in Lake Station and is now currently in Portage, Indiana. Dr. Bewick has a reputation for being a gentle dentist, and has over 30 years' experience in his family-owned practice serving as one of the area's premier general practices.
Jill has been with our office since May 2013, bringing 10 years of experience. She enjoys being able to interact with our patients and help them meet their dental needs and insurance maximums. She will do her best to put you at ease with treatment planning, scheduling, and payment processes in our office. When outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her family (especially her two grandchildren) & friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
Alesia is Dr. Bewick's oldest daughter and has worked for him as a dental assistant on and off since she was 15 years old. While working at the office she was able to obtain her education degree. She is now employed at Paul Saylor Elementary School teaching at the fourth grade level and enjoys being a part of the Saylor family. Although we miss seeing her every day, she still finds time to help out whenever she can.

First of woman at front desk Jill is amazing and very easy to work with.... the hygentist was very fun to talk to and very good at her job ... Dr bewick ... was wonderful also ... I'm 42 years old and just went to dentist for first time in my life ... I was terrified to go for many decades... going there once made me feel like I should of be going all those years... that made me feel very welcome and couldn't have been easier... cant wait to go back..

Awesome dentistry! Staff is very personable to the point where me and Jill will have little conversations over txt when she is scheduling me for or confirming an appointment. Makes me feel like more than just a random client.

I have been going to Dr. Bewick for 10 years and have been so happy with my experience. The receptionist, Jill is always a pleasure to work with making payments and booking easy. The hygienist always makes sure I'm comfortable and my teeth feel spotless after a cleaning. I also enjoy Dr Bewick's easy going demeanor and attitude. What an enjoyable experience!

I have been taking my kids here for a couple years for cleaning's and Mr. Bewick has never acknowledged me. I take my children for cleaning every six months and my son just had braces removed. I found out he needed a root canal and a crown. The root canal was painless for my son which was done by someone else because Bewick doesn't do them. But they did the crown which my son sat in a chair(16 year old) for 2 and 1/2 hours with extreme discomfort and bleeding. His jaw makes popping sounds now. I told Jill today while I was waiting 30 minutes past appointment time, while Bewick was finishing the crown and she just shrugged her shoulders like oh well, and said sorry. I looked up on the Internet that a crown should be virtually painless. So if you won't talk to me at the office maybe you will read my review and care to talk to me Bewick. I paid 1450 out of pocket no payment plan, I literally put that in your pocket and you can't take time out to say sorry you had to wait, thank you for your business and I hear your son was in pain and maybe explain why? You will probably be retiring soon cause you can tell your just kind of done with the humanity part. I guess most of us except your golf buddies and local farmers get treated like a number, nothing more.

Keary is a very caring dentist, has a gentle touch. Grew up always hating having to get cavities filled because of the numbing meds and needles , barely felt when Keary numbed my mouth.

Would be more stars if there were more than five!!! Keary Bewick has been a lifesaver for me. He pulled a severly impacted tooth that had the whole right side of my face swollen and capped my front tooth. Best dentist i've ever been to. If dentists were athletes he'd be on the pro level

I love Dr. Bewick he's a very nice dentist and good with my son. As for the receptionist, Jill, and one of the woman hygienist whose name I'm unsure of, are absolutely rude and unprofessional. Some of the things the hygienist said to my son about his teeth were rudely said. I'm sure she meant well but still, he's 11 years old. Then to hit the pillow out from under his head as she's laying him back and say "sorry you looked goofy with that under you. I know that was mean of me." Then saving a piece of food she cleaned out of a back molar and circle it on the tray to tell Dr. Bewick she saved something for him for lunch was unnecessary and something that should not be said around the patient let alone a child patient. She made him feel embarrassed and uncomfortable and I know it wasn't just me thinking she was rude since my son brought it up to me before I even said anything. The receptionist is rude and doesn't have the right attitude in which you'd expect to receive from someone who greets you when you walk in. Has to have a smart know it all response and keeps cutting me off while I'm trying to talk and literally yelled at me over the phone when I called to make an appointment because she couldn't hear how I spelt his name so she cuts me off and loudly says the first 3 letters of my son's last name as a question. I use to take my son, myself, and his dad to this place when it was by Kelseys steak house and do not remember them being so rude and unprofessional. I feel totally uncomfortable going there and am actively looking elsewhere to go to from now on when we need teeth cleanings and anything else. I hope any other potential customers don't get treated the way we did especially kids' because they are innocent and most don't like the dentist as it is already so make sure the little one's have a better experience than mine did. Wow, what can I say. If your looking for a great dentist for you and your family then Dr. Bewick is the dentist to call. Very caring and welcoming staff. Dr. Bewick is very gentle and always asking if your OK. I am telling everyone I know about his great practice. Thanks Dr. Keary and staff. You all are so very professional at what you do.
