Dr. Ashby was born in Anderson, Indiana. He was raised in Indiana just outside of Chicago, Illinois. He attended Purdue University where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. His dental education was at Indiana University and specialty training for Pediatric Dentistry at Children's Hospital of Cincinnati. Dr. Ashby and his wife Janet have lived in this area since 1986 and currently reside in Lewisberry, PA. His wife is a nurse practitioner in Woman's Health. They have four sons. Dr. Ashby is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is on the staff at the West Shore Surgery Center and Hershey Medical Center. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pennsylvania Association of Pediatric Dentists, the Pennsylvania Dental Association and the Harrisburg Area Dental Society. Outside the office he enjoys his family, biking, photography and occasional woodworking.
In December of 2021 Dr. Nancy Rajchel retired from our practice. After 30 years of taking care of her patients in central PA, she plans to relocate to her home state of Texas. She is excited to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. She we will be missed, but we wish her much happiness in her retirement.
Dr. Jeffrey Kearns grew up in Mechanicsburg and he attended Mechanicsburg High School where he played basketball and baseball. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and while attending college he continued to play both sports. Dr. Jeffrey Kearns earned his dental degree from the University of Maryland Dental School and then went on to the Virginia Commonwealth University to complete his 2-year pediatric dental residency.
Dr. Jeffrey Kearns is board certified by the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is on staff at the West Shore Surgery Center. He also is a member of the American Dental Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Pennsylvania Dental Society, Pennsylvania Association of Pediatric Dentists and the Harrisburg Area Dental Society.
Dr. Jeffrey Kearns joined the practice in 2000 and is known to the children as Dr. Jeff. He lives in Dillsburg with his wife Christina and their two boys, Jared and Cameron. Dr. Jeff enjoys coaching his sons' sports teams, golf, skiing, hunting and vacationing with his family.
Dr. Patil was born and raised in Central India. After graduating from dental school in India, he moved to the United States in 2008 for further education. He attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX to receive his Masters Degree in Public Health. He received his DMD degree from Boston University and worked as a general dentist for 3 years in Erie, Pennsylvania. He received his specialty training in Pediatric dentistry from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Dr. Patil is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. Dr Patils passion for helping others continues beyond the dental office. Dr. Patil serves as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves.
Dr. Patil joined the practice in 2017. He lives in Hummelstown with his wife Kim and their two daughters, Navya and Evanya. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cooking spicy meals, and staying active through hiking, biking, and running.
Dr. Kristin Russo grew up in Indiana, PA and Lexington, KY. She graduated from Denison University in 2001 with a B. S. in Biology and French and then went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry. Having spent summers working at her own pediatric dentists office during college, Dr. Russo knew early on in her dental school education that she wanted to specialize in treating children and patients with special needs. After dental school, Dr. Russo went on to complete a two-year residency at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA where she earned her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2007. Dr. Russo is a board-certified pediatric dentist and has practiced in both Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Russo is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and their two daughters, Sadie and Elizabeth. She also enjoys reading, snow-skiing, running, music, and cheering on her University of Kentucky Wildcats!

LOVED the dentists there. My daughter has been going since she was 2. Now that she's old enough for cleanings, the office policy is that children go back WITHOUT their parents, no matter the age. I can understand this type of policy when COVID first began, but their policy stands regardless of masking or vaccination status. It's a bit ridiculous to expect a young child to sit for a cleaning without their parent in the room. A masked/vaccinated parent provides little exposure to the dentist. I'm saddened to leave because we loved the dentists, but their policy leaves little to be desired.

My son who is on the Autism spectrum has loved Kearns & Ashby from the day we took him there 6 years ago! We use the Mechanicsburg location, and the staff is always very warm and welcoming! Everyone has always made sure that he knew what they were going to do before they started doing it, and trips to the dentist have always been easy for him because of their kindness and expertise! My daughter has had a wonderful regular experience with them as well!

My eight year old son and my five year old daughter have both had several visits here without complaint. My son has had a couple of non-routine visits and they always make him feel at ease.

The team at Kearns and Ashby are organized and friendly, always attentive to their patients and their office and patient environment is very nice. Very kid friendly ! We have been going there for approximately 10 years and have always had a great experience ! They did an excellent job putting precautions in place due to Covid as well. Thank you everyone at Kearns and Ashby for being a great pediatric dentist office !

My daughter has been a patient for a few years and has always been put at ease since going as a toddler. The staff are friendly and great with children that have some extra nerves visiting the dentist. We had.to have some work done to her teeth under anesthesia and Dr. Kearns was amazing. Kept me updated on what they would do and made it the smoothest procedure for her.

My 5 year old son was traumatized at another dentist's office. Dr. Kearns has been nothing but phenomenal working with him. He is slowly working with him to build up trust and no words can explain the appreciation I have. Dr Kearns and the staff are absolutely amazing. Thank you for putting this worried mama's mind at ease.

My daughter and I love coming to Kearns & Ashby. All staff members are great with kids and help them to not be afraid of the dentist! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist in the area.

I had to bring my daughter for a few fillings and everyone at the office was extremely kind, knowledgeable and wonderful with my 4 year old. I would definitely recommend this practice.

We love bringing our kids to this office as staff is very welcoming -dentists make checkups/treatment like fun for kids with their warm interaction. Whenever we have upcoming appointment coming for our kids dentist visit, they're never scared and look forward to it.

This pediatric dentist is amazing! They are so welcoming and make you have a calming feeling! They walk you through every procedure that will be done and make sure you understand and are comfortable with everything.
