I am writing to say how much I appreciate my dentist. I appreciate him and all of his office folks, their kindness and explaining my choices. I choose to have some plaque removed recently. My teeth feel better. They look so much whiter. He and all the ladies there really listens to what I ask. Thanks
George Keanna was born in Queens, New York in 1961. After completing High School he attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Upon graduation he received his bachelor of science in psychology. His love of science, healthcare, psychology and working with his hands motivated him to seek a career in dentistry instead of psychology.
From 1984 to 1988 he attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Even though his dental training encompassed every facet of the practice of dentistry he wanted further training and was accepted into a residency program at Castle Point Veterans Hospital in upstate New York. This was the turning point in his perception and understanding of health care in this country. This Veterans hospital was a spinal cord injury facility and the horrors that he saw have stayed with him and motivated him for twenty years.
After ten years he finally started researching this matter of mercury amalgam filling. The subsequent reading of volumes of peer reviewed articles and books from all over the world lead George to the realization that he had closed his mind to this matter of mercury based fillings. He could no longer practice dentistry as he had been taught and needed become a biological dentist.
His search landed him in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon the purchase of this existing Biological Dental practice it was immediately evident that his dental education was woefully lacking in its ability to allow him to service his new patients. Thus, the journey began. Over the next nine years he travelled all over the country taking thousands of hours of continuing education in nutrition, physiology, alternative medicine, etc... His greatest pleasure and accomplishment was graduating from Capital University of Integrative Medicine. in Washington, D.C., as valedictorian. His title of Doctor of Integrative Medicine is just as cherished as his degree from Georgetown University.
