Dr. Jean Kay is proud to welcome patients to a practice where real caring and compassion, combined with education and experience, are used to provide the best in orthodontic care. Her dedication of service to the patient along with the support of a carefully selected, knowledgeable team creates excellence in both patient care and clinical results.
Dr. Kay is a graduate ofCornell University, where she received her bachelors degree in chemistry and economics. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Columbia University College ofDental Medicine, where she also obtained her certificate in orthodontics.
Dr. Kay is a member of the Schulman Study Group, a nationally recognized association of prominent orthodontic practices. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Ohio Dental Association, and Toledo Dental Society.
Dr. Kay is married and resides in Perrysburg, Ohio. She and her husband are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. During Dr. Kays free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, running, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Brent Paulus received his undergraduate degree with honors from the Ohio State University. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from OSU as well. He completed an orthodontic residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he receivedan MSD postgraduate specialty degree in orthodontics. After working in private practice in Colorado Springs, Dr. Paulus and his wife moved back to Ohio to be closer to family.
We are confident that you will appreciate the skill, care, and efficient treatment that Dr. Paulus brings to our practice. Along with a dedication toattending orthodontic continuing education courses, Dr. Paulus lectures to the pediatric dental residents at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He also supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It is a chance for him to give back to the community.
Dr. Paulus comes from a family of orthodontists! His father and his brother are both orthodontists in Alliance, Ohio. His wife, Dr. Ashley Paulus, is a pediatric dentist at Sylvania Pediatric Dental Care. They enjoy spending time with family and friends. Outside the office, they enjoy snow skiing, training for marathons, and hiking.

I have four daughters that have all had or are currently in braces. Over eight years ago Dr. Kay was recommended to us as the best orthodontist in the area. I now know that to be true - I've seen and heard of other doctors' work and there really is no comparison to Kay & Paulus. One set & known price with no hidden fees, great customer service, convenient locations, & high quality results was more than enough reasons for me to trust them with all four of my girls. An easy 5 star rating that comes with my highest personal recommendation:)

My daughter has always had positive experiences with Dr. Kay and Dr. Paulus' staff. They are patient and engaging, so she doesn't worry at all about going to the orthodontist (plus she loves that they give her ice cream!) I have found them to be informative and they have answered my questions so that I understand what is happening and why they recommend what they do. They also were very accommodating about getting us in quickly for a repair when my daughter needed an unexpected adjustment to her appliance. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for orthodontics.

Very friendly office staff and doctors. Convenient locations. Very clean facility. Super easy to make timely appointments. Very kid friendly environment. iPads in the waiting room to occupy kids before appointments and Schwan's ice cream after!

Child #2 had a great consult yesterday. The appt was done in a timely manner, the treatment plan was presented very thoroughly and all questions were answered. Financials were discussed. Very efficient office. Will start treatment soon. And of course, the ice cream at the end is always a nice treat!
