Dr. Kay and his staff provide quality, comprehensive dental care that is necessary and vital to your overall well-being. We treat patients with utmost respect and pride ourselves with being honest and punctual. Therefore, our patients are a very important part of our practice.
Dr. Sophan R. Kay was born in Cambodia in 1971. His family survived the torturous communist regime, Khmer Rouge during the killing field from 1975 to 1978. In 1978, Dr. Kay and his family escaped from Cambodia to live in the refugee camp on the border of Thailand. Fortunately, in 1981 the United States granted Dr. Kay and his family as refugee status. His entire family immigrated to the United States where they settled in Santa Ana, California. Upon Dr. Kays arrival in the United States he did not know how to read, write nor did he speak English. With self determination, he excelled academically in his studies.
Dr. Kay attended the University of Arizona where he earned his Bachelor degree in Medical Technology. In 2000, Dr. Kay earned his doctorate degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He was commissioned as a Captain to the United States Air Force where he received extensive training in all aspects of dentistry. Being a part of the Air Force, he exemplified the core values of Integrity, Service, and Excellence. After three years of service, Dr. Kay separated from the Air Force where he then embarked on his own to open up his private practice. Kay Dental was established in 2005 with the same philosophy similar to the Air Force, Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.*
Dr. Kay has a passion for learning and continues to take numerous continuing education courses in the dental field. He received extensive training from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain including TMD/TMJ along with UCLA School of Dentistry of Sleep Medicine and Dental Implants from the University Of Loma Linda School Of Dentistry and has taken several courses and seminars in Orthodontics. With all of his training, Dr. Kay will provide comprehensive care that can be completed at Kay Dental.

I've been coming to Dr. Kay for over 7yrs. I love this place. The staff and Dr Kay are awesome. Dr. Kay explains in great detail everything going on and what's best for my situation. Definitely recommend anyone!

I am very impressed with Dr. Kay who is very thorough and spend time to explain clearly to the patient. And the whole staff are very accommodating, professional, courteous and attentive. They are super caring. I am a new patient called them bc my crown fell out Dr. Kay is booked two weeks out but they were able to squeeze me in to have Dr. look at and he was able to fixed.

Great dentist! I've been seeing Dr. Kay since moving to the area 5 years ago. Friendly staff. Sunday I had a crown break off. They saw me at 1:40 on Monday where Dr. Kay replaced the post and set me up with a temporary crown, until the new permanent crown is ready. I was on the way home in less than an hour. I've seen quite a few dentists over the years and Dr. Kay is the best dentist that I've seen.

After searching for a great dentist in the Northwest area for about a year, some reliable friends of mine highly recommended Dr. Kay. Last month was my first trip to his office for a routine check-up and cleaning. The office staff and hygienist were so wonderful. I had major dental work done yesterday with Dr. Kay. Both he and his assistant Jackie were fantastic. I was very nervous and they reassured me that they would walk me thought the procedure. It went so well.

Everyone always thought I was weird for this, but I have honestly always loved going to the dentist, even when I was a little girl. I really thought it was great and everyone was very nice and my teeth felt so clean after - I loved it! But then, my insurance changed and I had to start seeing a different dentist and the experience was HORRIBLE. Everyone was rude and I felt like I was practically being carted in and carted out on a conveyor belt. I came to realize that I did not actually love going to the dentist, but rather, I had a great dentist and that dentist had a great support staff. I tried again and again to find a new dentist, one that could match up to my old dentist who made me love to visit, and I was just about to give up when I ran across Dr. Kay. Conveniently located right off Twin Peaks, five minutes from home, everyone super friendly and pleasant and Dr. Kay himself always having a joke or a kind word. Even my toddler loves going to the dentist thanks to Dr. Kay. Thanks for making me love going to the dentist again, Dr. Kay.

An impressive dentist. Fast and through with a well trained, efficient and capable staff. Excellent dental work. Extremely knowledgeable. No waiting! For all of my appointments I was immediately taken in. Did not even get a chance to sit down. This is the mark of an accomplished dentist - or physician. Highly recommended.

I was reffered to Pay Dental through the VA, and although I was hesitant at first Dr. Kay and his staff are wonderful. They always treat me with respect, call to remind appointments, and accomadate my schedule. I was so lucky to find them.
