Dr. Kawata has been practicing orthodontics in Corona, CA, for more than 25 years. Having grown up in Californiaandraisinghis own family here, he understands the needs of the patients and families he treats. After attending the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies, Dr. Kawata earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. He then returned to the University of Southern California School of Dentistry for his advanced specialty degree in orthodontics. He continues to be involved at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Department of Graduate Orthodontics,as a part time clinicprofessor, where he has been voted 'Teacher of the Year' four times.He also recieved the Alumnus of the Year award!
Professional affiliations and continuing education are important parts of Dr. Kawata's personal and professional commitmentsand responsibilities as an orthodontist. Dr. Kawata is apast President of the Southern California component of the prestigious Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. He isalsoon the board of directors of the H.L. Dougherty and Keith TanakaOrthodontic Foundation at USC.He is heavily involved in continuing education in order to stay current with the latest trends in the orthodontic field and to offer his patients and students the highest qualitycutting-edge technology in orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Kawata ishappily married and a very proudfather to their two daughters who arefollowing in his footsteps! In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his family, play golf, and travel. He is thrilled to bea part of theCorona community and to share the gift of a beautiful smile with all of his wonderful patients.

Chantel has been working in the dental field for 20 years. When looking for an orthodontist for her own children, she knew Dr. Kawata was 'the' one. 'I was impressed with the time that Dr. Kawata took to explain my children 's treatment to me, andhow he madesure he collected all the diagnostic recordsbefore jumping right into treatment. Working in the field, I knew this was a rare commodity.'
Jan has worked with our office in the past as a chairside assistant. We arefortunateto haveher back as our financial coordinator. Jan loves spending time with her family. In her free time she loves decorating and crafts.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

Came into Dr. Kawata's office just under two years ago and could not have asked for better results. I was looking for orthodontic treatment that was discrete and he was honest with his opinions on which type of treatment would work best for me personally and clearly described the pros and cons of the different options I had available. Dr. Kawata was always more than happy to answer my questions and explain the process to me. He made sure I was aware of what my teeth were doing and what our game plan was. The entire team at this office was especially helpful and so welcoming I loved coming in to my appointments! I had a bracket break and the team here made sure to get me in the same day. Dr. Kawata straightened my smile and aligned my bite perfectly, will always recommend this team to anyone!

After several months delay (my doing), I finally had my ortho consultation with Dr Kawata and I was pleased. The consultation was everything I'd hoped it would be: professional, honest and caring. Both Dr Kawata and Chantel Gomez, the treatment coordinator answered all my questions and explained the treatment plan in understandable terms. I look forward to starting my treatment with them!!

I would like to start off by saying that all the staff was very friendly and the facility was very clean. I took my 8 year old daughter for a consultation and will be honest my daughter was a bit nervous at first. Doctor Kawata and staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. He went through explaining in full detail her current condition and recommendations. I was very impressed with his explanation and he made sure I understood the next steps. I felt at ease knowing that he would work with my daughters primary dentist on his plan. My daughter left very excited and can't wait to get started. I left completely satisfied knowing my options and know I made the right decision to begin her treatment at Dr. Kawatas office. I would highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Kawata's office is great! The office is always very clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Through every step of the process I felt comfortable and understood what was going on.
