Dr. Paul Yoo is a local boy from Oahu. He is married to Janie Yoo, a local ophthalmologist that owns Kauai Eye Institute, and is the father of three beautiful children. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Their passion for international service (primarily medical and dental) work led Drs. Paul and Janie to over 30 countries in bringing healing, sight and relief to those in need. They feel very fortunate to live on Kauai and to be able to raise their children in such a family-friendly environment. Dr. Yoo enjoys the mountains and beaches and desires others to know the Creator of these beautiful wonders.

Dr. Miriam Gonzalez grew up in sunny Arizona, where she received her Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine from Midwestern University. Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the American Dental Association and the Hawaii Dental Association.
As a recipient of the NHSC scholarship, she worked in public health serving in various underserved communities. During this time, Dr. Gonzalez was a guest lecturer at Midwestern University about the topics of public health and community health centers. She has also volunteered her time in the U.S. and abroad.
Shelly loves spending time with good friends and being outdoors enjoying the beauty of the island. Her favorite hobbies are playing volleyball, fishing and baking. Her big goal is to one day backpack around Europe with her husband.
Being a student at Kauai Community College and working full time at Kauai Dental Studio, Kaelee has her hands full. She has a strong sweet tooth especially for ice cream. In between working and studying, shes up for adventures anywhere and everywhere.
Hails from Costa Rica where she is currently in dental school (online studies). Always busy at work or learning about dentistry. When not doing these two, you can find her at a beach, connecting with nature, stargazing and chasing beautiful sunsets with her husband.
Signe (Sig) hails from Arizona and has been a registered dental hygienist since 2017. She has participated on numerous dental mission trips/projects, which was the catalyst in her pursing a career in dentistry. She loves to travel with her husband and they both enjoy golfing, surfing and exploring the ocean.

My husband and I were vacationing in Kauai when he popped a crown off. We felt extremely lucky to find a dentist who would see him almost immediately. When we arrived, we were treated like ohana and he was amazed at the professional care received. Mahalo for a job well done!

I've had many dental encounters and I can say without exception the care, professionalism, and competence i received from Dr Gonzales and her friendly staff is the reason I no longer have to search for my dental care! Exceptional in every aspect! Mahalo and Aloha Douglas

This so called Dentist is a BUTCHER when it comes to teeth removal. He may be great with cleaning and minor tooth work, but what I experienced was HELL. I went in with tooth pain in my back tooth. After 3 x-rays Mr.Loo comes in and says one tooth has to be removed. Then he says he wasn't sure yet but possibly the one next to it too. Once he starts the numbing, that's when it all went downhill. He rubbed a numbing gel on my gums, then immediately injected my gums with a needle. There was no wait time in between in order for the numbing gel to kick in. I immediately felt pain from the needle. It was excruciating. I told him it hurts! He injected me 4 times. I felt every centimeter of the needle. Then he grabs the pliers or whatever they use and started pulling. The tooth that was bothering me came out with no hesitation. Obviously because my roots were dead. But then he says he is going to pull the one next to it. I assume Dentist's know what they are doing so I didn't question it. But when it took 15 minutes of pulling so hard my head lifted off the chair, I knew something was wrong. He struggled HARD to pull the second tooth. After the removal I asked the nurse if I could keep the teeth. Sure enough, the 2nd tooth had nothing wrong with it. He pulled a perfectly good tooth out of my mouth. Throughout this nightmare I was screaming in pain. I am sure if Mr.Loo reads these reviews he will remember me clearly. You butchered my mouth, Mr.Loo. I won't even acknowledge your title as a Dentist because of what I went through. I have had E.R. Physicians numb my mouth with injections and never felt any pain. And they arent even Dentists. I hope at least one person reads this and takes my advice. Don't go to him. This man is a butcher.

Really like the atmosphere here. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The way they set up your treatment plan makes more sense than anywhere else I've been, super easy to understand and plan for financially! And it's clean!

Top notch. Super friendly staff! Had an actually quite delightful experience getting a burdensome windom tooth yanked thanks to the clear communication and down to earth energy of the staff. It was easy peasy. I highly recommend Kauai Dental Studio!
