I practice dentistry because I enjoy the interactions I have and the subsequent relationships that develop with our patients. Regardless of the persons background and experience, there is always common ground on which to exchange thoughts and something to learn from one another.

For more than 35 years, I have cared for the Teaneck community, building connections than go beyond provider and patient. For myself, Dr. Block, and our team, patients are more than mouths and teeth: we care about them as individuals and treat them as we would a family member.

I enjoy getting to know people and appreciate that I am now seeing the second and third generation of many families. Its immensely rewarding to be part of a childs life, seeing them grow up with a healthy smile, and then have them bring their own children to our office. This trust is a gift to us and it lends testimony to our approach to rendering treatment and care.

It has always been a professional goal to provide the highest quality dental care possible. As a result, I pursued that excellence in a host of continuing education seminars and classes, and have actively been involved in teaching institutions for my entire career.

Dentistry is an ever-evolving field and it is critical that practitioners stay current with the latest developments. Dr. Katz regularly participates in continuing education opportunities, including study groups, as well as attends seminars and live classes.

Beyond his own studies, Dr. Katz has been an Associate Professor of Dentistry at the Columbia School of Dental Medicine from 1987-2019. He has also served as the Director of Oral Diagnosis at New York Presbyterian Medical Center Queens for 30 years and currently sits on their prestigious credentialing committee. His position on Director of Oral Diagnosis includes lecturing, case presentation, and writing hospital policy and protocol.

Dr Katz was part of identification team at the 9/11 World Trade catastrophe put together by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by Congress. To this day he still serves on the NYC Medical Reserve Corps.

As a result of Dr Katz's extensive dental background, he was recently hired as the Director of Clinical Dental Education at Touro College School of Dental Medicine. In this role he would oversee the training of the next generation of dentists which include the writing of the curriculum, establishing protocol, teaching, and supervising the clinical application of dentistry.

Because of his ongoing activities in dental schools and residency programs, Dr. Katz is continually exposed to the latest dental techniques, materials, equipment, and research. Over the years, Dr Katz has amassed a tremendous amount of training in restorative dentistry and hands on experience in the most complex of cases. He is able to incorporate this leading-edge knowledge into private practice, ensuring patients receive the highest quality care.

A native of Brooklyn, Dr. Katz and his family have resided in Bergen County for more than 30 years. He and his wife of more than 35 years, Tammy, currently live in Teaneck. The couple has four adult, married children and eight grandchildren.

Time with his family, whether theyre vacationing together or gathering for dinner, is one of Dr. Katzs greatest loves. Second to his family is his love of traveling: exploring and learning about new-to-him ideas and ways of living.

This love of family and appreciation for learning of the lives and experiences of others is reflected in the care Dr. Katz provides his patients: each person is welcomed as a friend and treated with the greatest respect and compassion, while receiving the highest level of care.

Having a positive impact in peoples lives is an amazing opportunity: whether Im providing a fun and safe first dental experience for a child, or working with their older sibling or parent to improve their oral health, I can have a tangible impact on that persons life.

Dentistry is far more than working on teeth. For me, its about caring for the person, first and foremost, and partnering with them. Together, we figure-out a treatment approach that addresses the whole of their situation, thats painless and efficient, and gets them to a healthier smile!

Dentistry is constantly changing. New techniques, materials, and technologies are continually developed and brought into the patient experience, improving diagnostics, treatment, and outcome. These advancements can all change the level of care I provide, so its important I stay up-to-date with the latest information.

I attend many local dentalcontinuing education courses, learning from researchers and practitioners. I am also currently an Associate Pre-Clinical Faculty and Assistant Course Director at Touro College of Dental Medicine.

Through my work at Touro College of Dental Medicine and attending continuing education courses, I stay on top of changes in methodologies and materials. By constantly learning about new products and expanding my abilities as a practitioner, I am able to offer patients the best treatment options, provide the most comfortable care, and deliverincredible results.

Im a Teaneck native and moved back in 2013, after I finished dental school. I love raising my family in this community: my husband and I have three adorable children who keep us busy with their many activities.

We love spending time outside, playing sports, going to the beach, planting and gardening. I especially enjoyreading to my children; it is a special time we spend together, and they love helping mebake and cook.

Additionally, I am involved in my community synagogue and my childrens school. I volunteer my time and abilities whenever possible, believing it is important to give back to the places that are a big part of my life. In doing so, I not only show my appreciation for what these places offer my family and me, but I also help strengthen our community for the betterment of all.

At Katz and Block Dental, were passionate about oral health and great smiles! Our gentle dentists, Dr. David Katz and Dr. Rebecca Block, provide personal and comfortable dental care in a very private setting, delivering amazing results that will have you smiling.

This discussion, and all that follow, enables us to design a treatment approach that addresses your clinical needs and is appropriate for your personal situation. We offer ethical treatment recommendations and will provide all the information you need to make informed decisions about your care.

Dr. Katz, Dr. Block, and our team are passionate about what we do. We know that dental care has the ability to transform your life, improving your oral and overall health while boosting your self-esteem and confidence.

Made a mistake. I should not have been hasty. He and Dr. Block are good dentists. I had dental implants but suffered. It's not their fault. Not that anything went wrong but when you have this procedure done, you must wait many weeks for even the temporary denture. I guess I went in with my eyes closed to coin a phrase. However, it seems the dentist is doing the right thing. If you go to Drs. Katz and Block you are in good hands. I conferred with the oral surgeon, if you will, about the whole thing so Dr. Katz is the dentist I need now to make a denture up for me. I had four implants and was in a lot of pain but I'm now feeling better and ready for the denture but it MUST be done property and I'm glad Dr. Katz is being prudent and careful about it. By the way, Dr. Block is a lovely lady and they both have excellent bedside manner and that's important to a chicken like me. Sorry, I got impatient and a bit angry. You could go to both these doctors and trust them.
