Our dental office uses advanced sterilization technology for the ongoing safety of our patients and staff. In fact, we exceed the cleanliness and safety standards required by OSHA and the ADA. We clean every surface and room in our office to ensure a healthy office environment. In our waiting room, we have complimentary water, coffee, and tea for all of our patients. Patients can also relax and watch our flatscreen TVs while they receive their dental treatment.
We take time to get to know our patients as individuals so we can better treat their dental concerns. Our gentle and friendly dental care team ensures your comfort, whether you require extensive reconstruction or routine dental care. For patients with dental fear or anxiety, we offer dental sedation. Dental sedation can be used to calm and relax patients for their dental procedures. Sedation dentistry is a safe and proven treatment for most patients and can provide the solution for anxious patients, enabling them to receive the dental care they need or desire.
Our dentists use modern digital x-rays in order to view clear images of the patients mouth. Using these images, we can accurately diagnose patients. X-rays capture images instantly for a quick and comfortable process. Traditional x-rays exposed dentists and patients to high levels of radiation. Our modern digital x-rays give off 80% less radiation. We can also quickly save, access, and send x-ray images.
Dental lasers use light and heat to easily cut through soft tissues in the mouth to remove gum infection as well as an excess of gum tissue. Laser therapy may also be used to treat temporomandibular joint disorders. Dental lasers offer a pain-free treatment without the use of loud and uncomfortable surgical tools.
Dental treatments that are necessary for your health are more likely to be covered by insurance. Because of this, routine and restorative dental treatments are usually partially covered by dental insurance. However, most cosmetic treatments are not covered because they are not medically essential.
Preventative dentistry stops problems like cavities or gum disease from affecting the teeth and gums. Routine dental cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatment, and dental sealants fall under preventative dentistry. We recommend that our patients receive preventative care in our office every six months so we can help them keep track of their dental health.
Dr. Catherine Wilder is a dentist that has been meeting the oral health needs of the Katy, TX community for over 20 years. She grew up in Katy and attended Taylor High School. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Dr. Wilder earned her DDS, or Doctor of Dental Surgery, at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Wilder is passionate about providing high-quality treatment to her patients in a caring, relaxed manner. She wants patients of all ages to feel comfortable in her office. By creating a welcoming environment, Dr. Wilder can create personal relationships with her patients and better understand their oral health needs.
Dr. Lauren Shepard is a Katy, TX dentist who has been practicing dentistry in the Katy community since 2008. Sheattended Texas A&M University and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Science. After undergrad, she earned her dental degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch.
Dr. Shepard is passionate about providing her patients with state-of-the-art dental technology. Using this modern technology allows her to diagnose her patients and create custom treatment plans that address their particular needs.

I have been going to Katy Smile Design for several years. One of the best end to end dental experiences from the front office to dental hygienist to dentist. Unfortunately I had a crown that cracked and Dr Wilder did a temporary repair until I can be fitted for a new crown and have it inserted. She was very quick and explained everything or I can understand easily. Her staff is very professional and do an excellent job in making you feel comfortable and wanted as a customer.

Didn't tell my wife that they stopped taking our Delta Dental insurance mid-year. Wife went in for a routine cleaning/exam/x-rays and we were stuck with a big bill.
