We understand that some dental issues and pain need to be dealt with promptly, thats why our emergency care line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Below you will find helpful information regarding a few types of common dental emergencies and ways to help avoid them.

Dental emergencies can strike anyone, but our patients who commit to regular dental care visits present with significantly fewer problems over time. Professional dental exams at our practice allow us to bring a blend of proactive efforts to you.

When you visit our practice we review many aspects of your health before we clean your tooth surfaces. Things like chipped teeth, high sensitivity or sore gums could all be the beginnings of bigger problems down the road.

Regular dental visits prove vital in fixing and preventing decay and gum disease as you keep up your daily home teeth cleaning habits. Together, with a proactive approach, we can prevent many issues from becoming dental emergencies.

Locate and save the tooth or its fragments handling them as little as possible, avoid touching root portions. Briefly rinse the tooth with milk. If the tooth is not broken, try to reinsert it in its socket. If the tooth is broken or you cannot reinsert it, submerge it in milk. Time is critical. Call us immediately!

Take out any easily removed pieces, then cover any remaining sharp pieces with over-the-counter orthodontic wax. Broken appliances are rarely emergencies. However, If metal is stuck in your mouth tissue, do not attempt to remove it. Immediately call our office for emergency assistance.

Clean the affected area thoroughly, dislodging any impacted food or debris. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water or hydrogen peroxide diluted with water (50/50). If there is any visible swelling, apply a cold compress to the area. Next, call our office immediately for emergency assistance.

We took our son to a nearby dentist on a Friday, who said he needed a specific procedure that she did not do. We called Katy Family Smiles. Explained exactly what the other dentist said we needed. "No problem, bring him in." We get there. The dentist looks at him. Explains that he needs the exact same procedure that we were told on the previous day. Then she informed us that she did not do that procedure. So we got charged for an office visit and xrays to be told exactly what we already knew. We will not be going back.

I had a scheduled 6 month appointment for my 7 year old daughter today at 11am. I showed up 15 minutes early. No one is here at the office. I never received a call or email ahead of time to notify me of anything. Now out the blue as I am writing this review I get an alert text message of an appt scheduled for August 6th for 11am which is not what my appt card shows. I understand that life happens but as a business there needs to be a level of professionalism. I will be looking for another dentist for my child. My time is valuable and so is my respect.

Customer service was great but the need form stronger numbing medication is definitely a issue I was giving the maximum number of shots allowed and felt pain the entire procedure until I had to just ask them to stop. I understand everyone's tolerance is different but is there definitely a need for something stronger for those who the normal medication doesn't work on.

My 4pm appt was triple booked, so I wasn't seen until after 5. By 5:35, I was told I needed a deep cleaning and had 3 new cavities and an old cavity that needed refilling. They close at 6pm and the Dr was still working on the other 3rd patient. I insisted they finish my appt and eventually the work was done, extremely rushed and very painful. At one point I was literally drowning, couldn't breath, bc the suction equipment wasn't placed/ didn't fit my mouth. Equipment was leaking water over my chin and neck, and napkins were stuffed around my person and wrapped around the tool. After leaving just before 7pm (3hrs after my initial appt) I had to return that week not once, but twice for filling adjustments because my bite was extremely off creating intense pain. In 6 days I spent over 7hrs in their office. The first rushed job left me in pain, even when my jaw was in resting position. I still cannot chew on the left side of my mouth bc of the pain in the upper new filling. It's like electricity running through my upper jaw when I do. I've moved out of state and cannot get a third adjustment on these fillings from here. I cannot recommend this office: Old/ broken equipment, painful X-rays with sharp plastic mouth pieces, rushed services, over selling of expensive mouth wash, triple booking appts. So very disappointed and the worst dentist experience I've ever had. Still cannot use half my mouth to chew. Front desk employees are lovely.

Don't go there. I change my appointment for a later time and there were going to do deep cleaning and filling. " So the dentist did the wrong tooth and made it that the dentist saw another cavity with out tell me first. They all start to get nervous and think fast what lie they were going to tell me. I did make say anything to them since I was numb from one side. I never going back and now, I have to look for a dentist that can fix what they mess up. I have a whole and a bump on my teeth. Stop try to make money and start paying attention to One customer at a time. That how mistakes happen and you ruin someone's teeth they should take the doctors license away for her stupidity trying to do everyone at once.
