A native of Denton, TX, Dr. Delaney first came to the East Millinocket area in June 2014 to support her cousin who was competing in the AT hike, and she immediately fell in love with the area. When she came home, she told her husband they were moving to Maine. She saw the opportunity to practice in a town where she could become an integral part of the community and participate in local events. In short, she wanted to be the dentist rather than just a dentist, making it easier to form close and trusting relationships with her patients. Of course, all great relationships start with an introduction, and you can start getting to know Dr. Delaney a little more by reading on below!

TMJ disorder (also known as TMD) is a common and oftentimes debilitating health problem that specifically affects the joints that allow you to chew and speak. If you are experiencing chronic jaw and facial pain, Dr. Delaney recommends a dedicated TMJ evaluation to determine if there is dysfunction present in the form of a misaligned bite, injury, or other source. Effective therapy techniques are available to restore harmony to your smile and overall wellbeing, including custom-made oral appliances/splints.

Intraoral cameras are an invaluable educational tool for teaching patients more about their particular smiles, any potential damage we discover during exams, and available treatment options. Our team will navigate the camera-tipped wand throughout your mouth, capturing high-resolution images that can be instantly transferred to a monitor in the operatory for easy viewing. Digital technology offers a world of valuable benefits and advantages when compared to the limitations of traditional film, and were proud to now offer this modern approach directly to our patients. Instead of having to wait for hours on darkroom development and handle hazardous chemicals, high-resolution X-ray images are immediately available for viewing after capture. Better yet, the entire diagnostic process is much safer, as any radiation exposure is reduced by up to 90%.

While digital X-rays are an essential part of routine dental care, their scope can be somewhat limited when planning advanced treatments like surgical dental implant placement and root canal therapy. In these delicate situations, we want to ensure that our approach is as precise, as confident, and as poised for success as possible thats why Dr. Delaney uses state-of-the-art 3D Cone Beam Imaging. This technology creates exhaustively detailed, three-dimensional X-rays of the patients teeth and related facial structures that leave nothing to the imagination.

Outright and unapologetically discriminatory.

Beware of this dental practice if you are a free tinker, capable of thinking in a logical manner. On April 12th. 2021 I arrived at the dental office for a routine cleaning and x-ray's to monitor my dental health. Not unlike what I have done since Dr. Delaney purchased the practice from our long-time dentist of over 30 years. Six months prior to this latest visit, I was able to be treated with no issues. Apparently in the ensuing 6 months the practice has instituted a zero tolerance for non-mask wearers. I sat alone in the waiting room for 10 minutes while waiting patiently for the receptionist to notice that I was waiting. I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment, and was finally noticed at 8:40 a.m. The receptionist came out and invaded my 6 feet of personal space to take my temperature with her laser probe. At that time, she observed I was sitting there without a mask on, just as I had 6 months prior, and she ran away to seek guidance on what to do. She returned with a mask that she wanted me to put on so I could travel the 32 feet to the dental chair safely where I would be asked to remove the mask so they could work on my teeth. Since I am a logical thinker and do not do things just because, I told the receptionist that I would be leaving to go home, as putting a mask on in this situation made absolutely no sense. I did recognize that it is up to the business what they want to do, it is their business. Recognizing I was in a no-win situation, I chose to politely remove myself from the situation, which could have been entirely avoided had the receptionist mentioned to me when she called to confirm the appointment, that I would "absolutely", have to wear a mask. I would have told her to push my visit off into the future, rather than commit to a visit at this time. Apparently, Dr. Delaney does not want my business in the future when things return to normal. She sent me a registered letter stating her zero-tolerance policy, and told me to take my business elsewhere. That is fine, it is her right to send my cash business off to one of her competitors. What I find hypocritical about this is, Dr. Delaney frequents a dining establishment that my wife and I enjoy from time to time. It is a good restaurant. The odd thing is, that whenever we were there last summer during the peak of covid hysteria, Dr. Delaney was seen by me and my wife flitting around the establishment making conversation with other patrons all without a mask. Apparently, it is safe to flit about in other people's space if you are enjoying a glass of your favorite adult beverage. After all, I can remember my god-mother keeping a bottle of brandy around for medicinal purposes.

Great dental care and service! Our 4 year old had to have a tooth extracted and was very anxious, we all were. Dr. Delaney took her time and comforted him and made sure he was completely relaxed before extracting the tooth. Our son came out of the procedure completely calm and excited to get a visit from the tooth fairy. I've seen this type of procedure go the complete opposite way with a different dentist (it happened to our oldest), so I was more than calmed and comforted that our son didn't have a painful or traumatic experience.
