Karrie Chu DDS Dental Care is a Pasadena based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, crowns, veneers and more.
Dr. Karrie Chu earned her dental degree from The University of Indiana Dental School, Indianapolis, Indiana. There she gained experience treating medically complex patients, handling dental emergencies and performing aesthetic procedures.
Education is extremely important to Dr. Karrie, for herself and her patients. She continues to learn the newest techniques in dentistry through continued course work to give patients the best options in treatment. 'I take a comprehensive approach to dental care, to properly treat the patient and effectively restore their oral and overall health.' Her professional memberships include The American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Gabriel Dental Society. 'Throughout the years, I noticed that many patients who had dental fears became very comfortable with me.' Dr. Karrie uses many ways to make the dental visit more comfortable including noise cancelling headphones, aromatherapy, dark glasses to eliminate bright lights and nitrous oxide if additional anti anxiety help is needed. For patients that have a strong phobia, she is one of the few dentist in Pasadena with a license to provide conscious sedation.
Dr. Karrie is constantly motivated to improve the lives of her patients and strives to provide an environment where patients feel protected, happy and listened to. When Dr. Karrie isn't in the office creating beautiful smiles, she spends her free time cooking, road-tripping, snowboarding and being active with her husband and two kids.

The entire Staff is courteous, professional, kind and everyone always has a smile, even at 0630Hrs. DDS Chu Chas taken excellent care of mine and my families oral health for many years. I'm glad to to know that our care is in the hands of such a knowledgeable staff that has all the latest innovative equipment and procedures that ultimately help us all have better oral health. KTA

Dr. Chu's office and all of her stuff are so comforting and nice for people like me that are definitely afraid of dentists. Every procedure they've done, it's not been a pain. Their laughing gas is totally relaxing. I love of her dentists and support staff They have the same etiquette of relaxing and being patient for someone like me. I am so glad I found her office. My daughter, son, and sisters now go to Dr.Chu's office.

I have gone to Dr. Chu since 2008 and am a loyal patient due to her and her staff's stellar work. Everyone in the office is always so kind and professional. As a patient you receive great dental care and an awesome staff. Patients are in great hands with Dr. Chu's office.

Dr. Chu and her staff are awesome. I've had to shop around for a good dentist for a while now and this place is hands down the best. the office is super clean with really nice/new equipment. there's no nonsense or pushy sales tactics, just professional people that are good at their jobs and seem to really like what they do. can't say going to the dentist is my favorite thing in the world, but I really don't mind going to this office.

I was nervous about going to the dentist after a couple of years worth of missed visits, but Dr. Chu's office has alleviated much of that anxiety! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, and all the staff took the time to explain procedures and answer questions warmly and professionally, without any judgement or annoyance. There are HEPA filters in the office and everyone was masking with surgical grade masks or N95s/KN95s-- as someone who needs to be COVID-cautious, I deeply appreciate their efforts to prioritize safety!

I am very happy with the professional and friendly dental service at Karrie Chu's office. In fact I like their service so much that I keep going to them even though they are out of network for me and therefore cost me more (unfortunately they are not with Aetna). But I still hope they will come back to Aetna .

Had a cavity. I've had them before and never really had a good experience. Would always have some pain, anxiety, and again-- pain. I was stunned at how much Dr. Chu was able to get my mouth numbed to the point where I had NO PAIN! And she handled me very delicately, to where my anxiety went from 8 to a 1 within minutes of realizing I wasn't dealing with any pain the entire time she drilled. Even the drilling seemed gentle!! So I am impressed with her skill and technique and definitely will have her as the family dentist moving forward! Staff is also very lovely and accommodating.

Dr. Chu has developed a fabulous practice. She and the staff are consummate professionals. I happen to be claustrophobic and they accommodate my condition. The work/procedures are done well and pain is managed, and expectations for procedures are well established before the work is done. And, the office staff. FABULOUS, and on top of my insurance benefits and payment strategies. Kudus all around for Dr. Chu and staff.

Our family has been going to Dr Chu for over 10 years. Our first visit was an emergency visit for my son and we never looked back. The care we have received is incredible; the office is clean and staff is welcoming and professional. The dentist definitely should be the last place I would want to go, in normal times, and especially during the current pandemic. I visited this office on Saturday, and it was such an amazing experience. They have gone above and beyond to increase air circulation to sanitize the space. It's clear management takes COVID seriously, as there is very robust PPE - multiple masks + face shields. The most important part is the people who work here. They care about your experience and do everything they can to make it as painless as possible. I did a cleaning and experienced very very little pain. All I could feel is the hygienist scraping away all the sins I've committed so that I can get a fresh start and make my teeth healthy. Dr. Chu did an exam and noticed several things about my jaw/teeth that none of my past dentists have noticed. It was amazing and eye-opening. I have a follow up appointment in 3 months and can't wait to go back. I will be working hard to take care of my teeth so that on my next check out, I can see improvement in my tooth health! Thank you!!!!

I've had so many cavities filled and other dental procedures, and I always hated going to the dentist. But Dr. Chu made the experience SO much more tolerable. I just had 2 cavities filled and the experience was totally painless and quick. She is excellent! And the whole staff is so warm and welcoming. Me and my whole family highly recommend!

Very happy to be a patient of Dr. Chu's. Her staff and dental office is very warm and inviting. Hands down the best experience I've ever had with a dental office. The quality of work has been the best I've experienced, each staff member in this office is amazing at what they do and it's apparent from the moment you walk in. With the ongoing pandemic they have taken all measures possible to ensure the safety of their patients. If you were/are a little anxious with the ongoing pandemic, I can confidently say that you will be able to feel extremely safe here!
