Ive been a dentist since 1981. I enjoy meeting and interacting with different people, getting to know them on a personal level. Many of my first patients were kids when they started coming to my office: now theyre bringing their children to me. Its truly an honor to be caring for more than one generation in a family.
It is my commitment, as a dentist, to make a positive difference in the lives of each of my patients. Not only do I want to improve their dental health and overall wellbeing, but I want them to learn that seeing the dentist is not something to worry about.

Dentistry is a constantly changing field. Dr. Karr takes many hours of continuing dental education each year, in order to remain current on emerging technology, new techniques, and revolutionary materials. By attending the Yankee Dental Congress, various conferences and lectures, and staying abreast of research through oral healthcare journals, he ensures his patients have access to the best care available.
Originally from Springfield, MA, Dr. Karr has lived in Marshfield for more than 35 years. Hes married and has three daughters, Danielle, Joanna, and Emily, a son-in-law, Bradd, and threegrandchildren, Luca, Francesca and Marina.
I am passionate about the field of dentistry and am very committed to my work. It was my childhood dream to join my familys practice and I feel very fortunate to be able to work with and learn from my dad everyday. I am in awe of his clinical skills, efficiency, and most importantly, the kindness he shows his patients. While I enjoy the medical, technical, and artistic aspects of dentistry, it is the relationships that we make with our patients that make this profession so enjoyable. It has been such a pleasure to get to know the patients my father has been treating since before I was born! I see providing oral healthcare to Plymouth County as both an honor and privilege. As a new patient with the practice, I found Meghan to be very professional, friendly and went out of her way to make me comfortable at my first appointment. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Emily, who was very welcoming and gracious, as well. The young lady at the desk who checked me out was also very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Karr is a great man. He has helped me out many times over the years. I've been with them for more than 20 years and wouldn't trust anyone else. I have had corinne for my routine cleanings through the years and she is so thorough. Thru changing insurances through the years I had to try a different dentist because my insurance wasn't accepted and went there and they told my I had 6 cavities. I found this strange seeing as how with dr Karr I had only had one in my life. I brought the x rays to dr Karr and without even making an appointment or paying for the review of the X-rays he told me I had none. Ever after that I realized it would be better to just pay out of pocket and see dr Karr then go to any other place. I consider them to be friends as well after yours of great care

Ask for dental hygienist Cindy. You will not be disappointed She is so kind and compassionate. She is gentle throughout the entire cleaning and always making sure you are good and comfortable. She's fast and does a very thorough job. I used to hate going to the dentist before I started seeing her! thank you Cindy!

Recently I had my teeth cleaned and I was very impressed with the dental hygienist. She was a wealth of information on proper cleaning of my teeth with both water pic and dental floss . She pointed out couple areas in my mouth requiring extra attention with use of mirror. I was not rushed and she encouraged questions. I will not be so nervous on my next appointment. Thank you!

The best! Everyone is so wonderful starting at the front desk who is always so kind, she even sent a sweet note with our appt reschedule reminder when she learned we had to cancel when our child was hospitalized w COVID...right to every hygienist I have seen, and both Dr Karrs. I had usually always had Sharon who is very personable and kind, this time I had Megan who was so knowledgeable and felt like a friend. Both Drs are gentle, thorough, and wonderful. My insurance changed and is no longer in network and I still cant bring myself to switch from this office. They know how to make a busy south shore town feel like a small community in this practice and I have had only positive experiences from the entire staff for years

My family have been very satisfied patients of Dr Richard Karr for many years. Now our young granddaughters are as well. One of whom has the same first name as Dr Emily Karr, second generation Doctor. This practice continues to evolve with the latest in dentistry and the staff is welcoming. Accommodates my insurance. Everything you'd expect in 1st class dentistry.

I previously had been to a different dentist and the experience was not up to par. I found Karr Dentistry trough a web search. I asked around and heard only good things so I gave them a try. They are great!! From the secretaries to the dentist everyone was great, friendly and professional. I found a permanent dentist.
