Dr. Karl is a native of Staten Island with many ties to the local community. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is also a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Society and the Richmond County Dental Society.
My name is Joanne Stroming. I grew up in Manalapan, NJ, but currently live on Staten Island. I completed my studies at the University of Rhode Island and the University of Medicine and Dentistry. I am the full-time hygienist at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates and have been practicing for over 15 years. It brings me great joy to be able to do what I love and make a difference in peoples lives. I am happily married and am a proud mother of two beautiful children.

I started out as an assistant and am currently the office manager. My passion is dance, and I have been dancing competitively since I was five years old. Being able to share my love for dance with my two daughters has been an incredible experience. I am very proud to say that I love my job. My name is Leah Philpott, and I was born and raised in Howard Beach, Queens. I moved to Staten Island several years ago with my husband, and we had a beautiful daughter on August 12, 2017. I am the hygiene coordinator at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates. I started a catering company a few years ago and spend most of my free time cooking. Hopefully, Leahs Italian Apples will continue to be successful, and the lucky people I work with will get to eat all the delicious leftovers.

I love interacting with the patients and using humor to provide comfort to people who are feeling uneasy. My coworkers would call me the life of the party. Very clean place and nice staff. Dr. Karl explains everything clearly and made me love my first visit. It was so easy to get an appointment and there was no wait time. Will absolutely come back here!

I've been a patient of Dr Karl for the past 19 years. He and his staff have been nothing but amazing. He truly cares about his patients and their well being. His staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this office for any dental procedures.

Dr. Karl and his office is wonderful. I always receive warm and respectful treatment from the Doctor and his staff members. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. They have a lot of availabilities and I never ever had any issues. The dental work is painless and seamless. They took care of me and I am very happy and satisfied that I chose Dr. Karl to be my dentist. The five stars are very well deserved by Dr. Karl and his staff members. Thank you for everything! I think most people can relate that going to see the dentist after a year of neglect is a very vulnerable and uncomfortable position to be in. However, the staff here have been incredibly warm, friendly and non-judgmental from booking, cleaning, examination and sorting out my insurance. Jessica is an incredibly friendly and skilled hygienist. In one cleaning session, she removed a considerable amount of tartar and put together a thoughtful treatment plan to help advance the health of my teeth and gums. She answered every question I had with empathy and compassion. Lea also went above and beyond to help me figure out my coverage which I am so appreciative of. It seems strange to say that going to the dentist is a pleasant experience, but it's the absolute truth here. I would never want to go anywhere else and I hope my insurance covers this forever :) Thank you everyone!

Dr. Karl is an Awesome dentist. He's incredibly thorough, gentle, and quick. I highly recommend him. The staff is very helpful, kind, and accommodating. I've always had a good experience with this office.

This is my second review. I do not know what to say about such a great office. The ladies are so helpful and Dr. Karl is amazing. I have never felt so comfortable at a dentist office. The work done on my teeth is amazing and painless. The cleaning was done without any problem or pain also. I would recommend them to anyone. Please know that if you decide to use them you are making the right decision....

I came to Dr.Karl with several issues unfortunately aggravated by substandard work by my previous dentist. He was able to immediately identify the issues and implemented a plan to remedy the situation. I am extremely pleased with the work that has been done and appreciate the professionalism of both Dr Karl and his support staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services to family and friends.

I started coming to Dr. Karl's office a year ago for a chipped tooth and have been in several times throughout the year to get my mouth back in shape after a lapse in dentist care. Dr. Karl, Dr. Thapar, and the entire staff of assistants and hygienists are all excellent and professional, and I recommend them very highly.

Dr. Karl is an absolute wizard. He's knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure you're informed with what's going on and the solutions available -- he also does it with a bit of humour, which helps! His staff are nice and always do their best to squeeze you in the day-of. 5/5, I recommend this office to everyone!
