Its probably easy to assume that Dr. Arakelian would have gotten interested in dentistry because of his dad, but truth be told, he never once felt pressured into the career. However, while in college, he realized that it would be a great job for him, allowing him to not only take after his father, but also directly serve the community he grew up in. All these years later, and hes never looked back!
Dr. Arakelian graduated from nearby Brooks School in North Andover, MA where he has directed the sports mouthguard program for the Athletic Department for many years. After completing his undergraduate degree in Biology from McGill University in Montreal, Dr. Arakelian chose to follow his fathers track and pursue his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He also completed a General Practice Residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center, continuing to teach there on a part-time basis afterwards.
Since the completion of his formal training, Dr. Arakelian has also attended over a thousand hours of continuing education, including time spent with SPEAR Education Study Club. He has learned to treat and retreat many kinds of complex restorative cases and makes every effort to stay current with the newest techniques and technologies in the field. He is a current member of the Massachusetts Dental Association.
Dr. Arakelian and his wife have been married for over 20 years, and they have two daughters together. When he isnt busy at the practice, he spends lots of quality time with his family. Other hobbies include skiing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and photography. He currently serves as an on-call dentist and a member of the Alumni Board for Brooks School, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill and is a former member of the Ski Patrol at Sunday River in Maine. He has also been a member of Cedardale Health & Fitness in Haverhill since it opened over 40 years ago. Dr. Arakelian is also a huge Boston sports fan as is evidenced by the numerous photographs in his office!
Paula has been a member of Dr. Arakelians team since 2007, and she really enjoys helping patients have a smooth experience during each and every visit. She is a lifelong resident of the Haverhill community and currently lives there with her husband. She also has three grown daughters and one grandson.
Marlenes career in the oral healthcare field spans well over 30 years so far, and shes been a member of our team since 2006. Our patients really rely on her extensive experience and attentive nature while in the treatment chair! She currently lives in Haverhill with her husband and has two adult children.
Jenny is our new dental assistant who is graduated from Northern Essex CC in Haverhill. She has assumed numerous roles in our office as we have instituted numerous safety protocols in our Covid world. She lives in Haverhill and is fluent in French.
Amanda may be a relatively new member of our team, but shes been working in the dental field for two decades so far. She studied dental hygiene at Middlesex Community College and is trained in CPR and dental anesthesia. Her favorite part of this position is getting to know all of the patients so well over time. A Haverhill resident, she is married with two children, a dog, and two cats. Her hobbies include reading (she definitely prefers books to TV), camping, cooking, and playing with her kids.

Dr. Arakelian and entire staff is simply the best! They know who you are, what you do and all about your family. They are kind and caring and make sure you are comfortable and aware of everything they are doing. They were able to work with me on a plan to get some work done at a price per month that I was comfortable paying. At one of my visits previous covid I had to bring my kids. My son was playing nicely on the floor but my daughter was not I was bouncing her on my stomach while getting a cleaning done. For one the hygienist was patient with me and was helping all she could to help my daughter stop crying and second once the receptionist realized what was going on offered to help with my daughter and she ended up falling asleep on one of the receptionist. They are so understanding. Dr. Arakelian is a realistic dentist he knows things come up and really works with you to provide the best dentist-patient relationship ever. I have never felt more comfortable at a dentist.

I have been going to Dr. Karl (as I have always called him) since I was first ready to go to the Dentist Office. I am 30 years old now and that is what type of place this is. The staff is always friendly from the moment you come in the door and they make going to the Dentist enjoyable. I now live 45 minutes away and still would not go anywhere else for my dentistry work. Dr. Karl still always checks in when you have an appointment, even if he is super busy. I highly recommend this family friendly Dentistry!

I have been going to Karl's family dental practice my entire life. Karl and his staff have always made myself and now my children feel like they are family too. Karl has always seemed to keep up with my life and it is nice to have that personal connection when you go into the office. The office is modern but still in a home office setting which is very comforting. The staff take great pride in the cleanliness and presentation of their office. Dr Arakelian is great! I used to hate having fillings done but he's quick and does a really good, thorough job. He's also extremely transparent with his pricing and is good at explaining what he's doing both before and during any procedures. Can't say I've had that kind of thought and care from any other dentist before. I would highly recommend this practice.

I usually don't write reviews but I feel as if it's warranted here.... Dr. A and his staff are very pleasant and professional. Always on time (if not a couple minutes early) for my appts. They are thorough and explain all the steps. I have a great plan in place for my dental care. I genuinely feel that they care for my health and well being. Very positive and personable staff. I highly recommend Dr A and his staff to anyone.
