Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Dr. Karam is a graduate of Abington Heights High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience in three years of study from the University of Pittsburgh. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree and graduating as valedictorian. Dr. Karam was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society and received several more honors, including an award from The International College of Dentists for outstanding leadership and professionalism and an award from the Pierre Fauchard Academy for exemplary moral and ethical service to the community and profession. Dr. Karam went on to complete a three-year residency and earned a Certificate of Advanced Study of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Dr. Karam and his wife Emily enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors. He also enjoys restoration work on his historic home. Dr. Karam and wife are thrilled to be home in NEPA along with their four boys and Great Dane, Lewes.

Dr. Jeff Pace is a native Northeastern Pennsylvanian, graduating from Dallas High School. He then moved out west and completed his undergraduate studies (and a lot of skiing) at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After his stint in Colorado, he then returned to PA and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, and then was drawn back out (a little further) west and completed his postgraduate orthodontic training at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. After spending 3 more wonderful years in Oregon working as an orthodontist at Kaiser Permanente, home was calling him back and he decided to move back east once and for all. He has also successfully completed the requirements to become a board-certified orthodontist, meaning that hes gone above and beyond to further his craft. Dr. Pace enjoys all things outdoors, among them skiing, backpacking, mountain biking, and mountaineering. He is an avid world traveler, as he has traveled to 5 continents (so far!). He is also a karaoke king and plays a few different musical instruments. Hes also a cat guy- he has 2 sibling kitties named Po and Lala (yes, from the Teletubbies).

Our staff is uniquely trained and highly skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and each one of our team members has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

Heidi joined the Karam Ortho team in 2010. She attended the University of Scranton and majored in English Communications and minored in Business Management. Heidi was also a past ambassador for the Scranton Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, hiking, and gardening. She also enjoys staying active and going for long runs after work.

Melinda is one of the first of many friendly faces you will meet at Karam Orthodontics. Melinda joined the Karam ortho Team in 2021. She enjoys crafting, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marlena joined the Karam Ortho team in 2020. She enjoys baking delicious goods and spending time with her husband, son, and fluffy dog, Buster. Marlena has a degree in Dental Hygiene from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Lindsey joined the Karam Ortho Team in 2019. She enjoys golfing, camping, antiquing, flea markets, and yard sales. During the summer, she likes to ride ATVs. She is starting to become an avid gardener. Lindsey also loves going for walks with her dog, Otis.

Scott joined the Karam Ortho team in 2017. He enjoys camping, hiking, caring for his plants, and spending time with his wife and kids. Scott also has a degree in Dental Hygiene from Luzerne County Community College, and a bachelors degree in Music from Bloomsburg University.

Jess joined the Karam Ortho team in 2017. She enjoys couponing, watching Netflix, and spending time with her husband and puppy, Gigi. Jess is also finishing a bachelors degree in Healthcare Management and Administration and graduates December, 2021.

Julie has been with Karam Orthodontics for 12 years! She was the first employee to work in the Scranton office. When Julie is not working, she enjoys doing yoga and walking her golden retriever, Tucker. She is a cupcake enthusiast! Julie and her husband Brian have two children and one grandchild.

Joelle joined the Karam Ortho team in 2013. She is one of the first of many friendly faces you will meet at our office as a new patient. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her kids, and supporting her daughter in softball!
