Dr. Kaplan graduated from White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Four years later, after completing a BA in Biology at the University of Kansas (Go Jayhawks), he returned to Memphis and enrolled in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. Dr. Kaplan received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT and then headed north to the University of Detroit Mercy for his orthodontic residency. He was awarded a certificate in orthodontics and earned his masters of science degree after completing his thesis, The Benefits of Maxillary and Mandibular Expansion Performed in the Mixed Dentition (Ages 7-10).
Dr. Kaplan is involved in research and development for two leading orthodontic companies, and has been sought out for his skills in treating patients with both clear aligners, such as Invisalign, and braces. He is also a speaker for Henry Schein Orthodontics and helps educate other orthodontists in advanced techniques to enhance treatment.
Dr. Kaplan is board-eligible to be a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and is a past director of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists. He is also a member of the following organizations:
After 15 years in Dunwoody and creating fantastic smiles, Dr. Kaplan continues to be a strong supporter of Dunwoody, Chamblee, Norcross and Sandy Springs neighborhoods, schools and local events. From Murphy Candler and MJCCA, to Turkey Trots and Lemonade Days, Dr. Kaplan truly enjoys giving back to the community. When he's not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Kaplan enjoys tae kwon do, indoor cycling, rock climbing, traveling, 80s trivia and all things Disney. Dr. Kaplan and his wife, Leanne, have two sons, Matthew and Pace, who bring much joy to their lives.

I love this place. I switched over to them because my previous orthodontics office closed and the process was so simple. Everyone in the office is extremely kind. The office itself is very clean and the employees do a great job making you feel comfortable. I've gone in for my initial consultation which was quick and painless and I've also had my first adjustment and I have 0 complaints. I would recommend this office to anyone in the area. Thanks Kaplan Orthodontics for welcoming me with open arms to the family!

Dr. Kaplan and his team are awesome. I've been going to Kaplan Orthodontics for 15 years for periodic adjustments to my permanent retainer. Dr. Kaplan is just an amazingly nice guy and his whole team are great. They always provide very personalized customer service in a very clean and modern setting. Five stars all the way.

The Kaplan orthodontics experience is amazing! When I first got checked up my family believed that my teeth were unfixable, it was really bad... But the service is nothing short of incredible! As a kid in school making appointments can be difficult but here it has always been 10/10. The appointments are always very quick and easy, I have never waited more than a few minutes after coming in to start my appointment. Dr. Kaplan and the staff are extremely professional and super awesome! With this comes the amazing treatments they offer, it is crazy how they are so good at what they do. With the three years and amount of treatments I have gotten I have never been in pain while they have worked on me. Kaplan Orthodontics is the orthodontics of Dunwoody!

My kids and I had the pleasure to meet with Dr Kaplan and his team today. The entire consultation was stellar from start to finish. Our treatment coordinator Jesse was through and precise. Dr Kaplan what can I say, he was very personable and addressed all my "mommy" questions along with talking directly to my kids age 13 and 8. We so excited about starting treatment!

I love it here! Dr. Kaplan & staff are professional, kind, and attentive. Dr. Kaplan and his team did an amazing job fixing my teeth. Now I feel really confident in my smile! They also gave me a wonderful gift for completing my braces, which was so sweet! The first picture is when I first started treatment, and my teeth were super crooked!! The second picture is today when my braces were removed.

Dr. Kaplan and his whole team are amazing!! Over the past 12 years Dr. Kaplan has been kind, patient, and has so much expertise. He helped me to get the smile that i thought was impossible. My treatment was focused on what was easiest for me along with his professional expertise. When I came to Kaplan, another orthodontist had recommended a palate expander and immediately to go into braces which would have taken many more years to treat. Dr. Kaplan avoided that pain and lengthy treatment by waiting to put me in braces until my teeth were ready, which made my treatment shorter and more effective. I did have a pretty complicated situation and every time I look in the mirror I am blown away by the work that he did. The environment at the office is always so bright and happy and it really made my journey so enjoyable. The appointments are fun, quick, and after being a patient for a while, the team was always excited to see and learn about my unique situation. Thanks Dr. Kaplan for my awesome smile.

I have had braces and Invisalign from Kaplan. While both were great and effective experiences, I enjoyed having Invisalign much more. Not only could I eat everything I couldn't with braces, but I also liked how you couldn't tell it was there. Invisalign also worked very fast for me, and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to decide whether to get braces or Invisalign. -Kinsey (14)

I would give this place 10 stars if possible! Not only Dr Kaplan is such a great orthodontist with excellent bed side manners, the staff is absolute fantastic, from everyone you see there from the front desk to Dr Kaplan everyone is great, polite, well trained, they work in a great mood. I wonder where he takes them all to training because is hard to find a place where all the staff is so wonderful. Maybe is the good music they play there sets everyone with good mood Keep up the great work everyone

Dr. Kaplan has been all 3 of my kid's orthodontist and was also mine when I got braces later in life. His staff is friendly, the office clean and welcoming and Dr. Kaplan is a great orthodontist! I would highly recommend this practice to anyone needing orthodontic work.

MIRACULOUS! I couldn't ask for better results with my adult braces, and I HIGHLY recommend Dr Kaplan to anyone. I was told at previous orthos that I would need a painful metal palette expander to widen my upper row of teeth, but Dr Kaplan was able to give me a perfect smile with just Invisalign and rubber bands. The best part - it honestly didn't hurt, not in the way I expect traditional braces would. Don't do metal, come here and get Invisalign - it is well worth it and you can get very powerful results! In addition to amazing skill of the team here, the service is excellent and I received very good support when I had questions outside of office visits. I was able to pick up extra supplies whenever I needed to. I have no complaints at all. The payment plan was very good also.

I had high expectations for this place, and I was really excited about my first consultation. Because of traffic, I was roughly 2 minutes late ( I even called them if that's going to be an issue, and I was told by the receptionist named Isabell that if I am not more than 10 minutes late, I will be OK). So I made it being 2 minutes late, and after checking in, I was told to wait in the lobby. However, then the receptionist named Isabell started to talk to her colleague, targeting me that they should come up with some rule so that there would be no late patients. She indicated that appointments should be Ten minutes before their actual appointment time, and this way, everyone will be early. She also mentioned that some people don't have Any time sense. She was loud and kept talking about me being tardy, like I was invisible. I felt embarrassed and humiliated; moreover, I said sorry when I checked in and called them before if it was okay to come in a few minutes late. There were awaiting four people in the lobby. But still, Isabell humiliated me in front of them. Anyway, because of that, I have changed my mind and got my braces from a Different orthodontist, and I am so glad that I did because their staff is Kind and Considerate. I bet Isabell would not be so cruel and mean to white patients. She would not dare!!!! For Isabell-" Kindness is a Choice and Free."

Dr. Kaplan is amazing! I met him at the end of my Invisalign treatment after I moved states and was referred by my previous orthodontist. He worked with me to make sure my smile was how I wanted it, then removed my attachments and created my retainers. Despite being a brand new client, he was so helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend him and his team for anyone looking for a great Invisalign treatment!
