Kannapolis Universal Smiles was opened in August of 2018 that partnered with Kannapolis dental lab who has been in business for 35+ years now. We take pride in having the best prices around. We also have an in-house lab to help with the quick turn around times. We provide the best quality service for the most reasonable prices. Our main goal is to send our patients out the door with a new smile on their face. Our staff hopes to see you soon!

Fabian Dunn, D.D.S. completed his undergraduate degree at Delaware State University before traveling to our nation's capital where he attended dental school at Howard University. Dr Dunn completed a one year general practice residency at Phelps Memorial Hospital/Open Door Family Center. Dr. Dunn is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He continues to develop new skills and is eager to contribute his generous service to society of today.

I want to edit my previous feedback because I was asked to clarify. The actual dentist I have no knowledge of the one currently at this location. I can't speak to his quality this review is for Kannapolis Dental labs. The dentist and lab are not the same thing but he is partners with them. I personally wouldn't pair myself with a shady business because their old problems will unfortunately come into play. As mentioned the Kannapolis Dental lab business is the ones he's partnered with so the review is for them. They have asked me numerous times to remove this review but I feel that would rob me of my only tool as a consumer to help others recognize the past of the business they are involving themselves with. I would inform the Better Business Bureau but as stated if you change partners the complaints get left with the doctors name you previously partnered with. I went to them to ask them to fix their mess up and instead of that they basically are hiding behind a new doctor and refuse to fix my problem. Maybe making sure a customer is happy is more important than a bad review to some but not to everyone. I encourage you to research any medical office you choose to go to and make an informed decision. I'm not say anything good or bad about this doctor. This review is for his partners the dental lab that is in this location. Thank you. I feel like everyone who thinks if going here should know this.the denture side of this business has moved around and changed their names and dentists to avoid the repercussions of their shorty work. They the were a few miles up the road right before the place they are now. The made me horrible dentures that don't fit and is causing me mouth damage. I got mine done at the old address so they told me they don't honor that work. Half the staff is exactly the same but it's not their problem. This is a very common practice for businesses that scam customers and insurance companies. I have collected names and incidents and will be submitting them to Medicare and bbb. BEWARE!!!!

My experiences with this practice have been fine, but I was a little taken aback when I learned their appointment confirmation policy recently. Basically, you really need to answer the confirmation text when it's sent, or your appointment will be canceled. Thankfully I was able to confirm my appointment before this happened, but as someone who doesn't always remember to answer texts immediately (I check it, but I'm busy, and then forget to respond; happens way too often for me!), it was a hard lesson to learn. So make sure you respond to the confirmation texts, and save yourself a cancellation!

I hate going to the dentist, however, I had to go due to a broken tooth. Great experience, I will get back to you after I get the crown!

I feel like everyone who thinks if going here should know this.the denture side of this business has moved around and changed their names and dentists to avoid the repercussions of their shorty work. They the were a few miles up the road right before the place they are now. The made me horrible dentures that don't fit and is causing me mouth damage. Dr. Dunn and office assistants are very welcoming . Dental hygienists are very knowledgeable. Very clean waiting area .

I can't go back, it was too painful. Also when they took me back in the back I had to sit there for like 45 minutes because they had problems and was concerned about my insurance, it got paid but it was an inconvenience to me. Just not a good overall experience, too much problems and pain, I let the doctor know I was in pain and he continued without numbing it anymore, I was ready to scream it was so bad. I haven't been back and I don't plan to.

Family member had to have a tooth removed. Did not get any instructions on what to do over the next few days. Did not get any antibiotic or antimicrobial rinse that you usually get for any tooth extraction and did not get anything for pain.

I was a patient of Dr.Gibbs, so thought I would try to make it a go with these guys. I had a tooth extraction.the staff and Dr Dunn were very nice, but I got no instructions on extraction care or what to do for home care. A little disappointed that they never told me anything or offered instructions and extra gauze or mouthwash.. very sore.

I've used this office when it was Gibbs Dentistry since I was a child. My mother and grandmother as well. When Gibbs retired we were very sad but thought I'd give the new owners/business a try. I will NOT be returning. The bedside manner from the dentist I seen was disgusting. I cried my entire way home from how low and unsympathetic he was. My insurance would not cover the procedure needed and I asked what out of pocket would be, etc. He spoke to me as if I could not make the payment for the 1,500 procedure that insurance would not cover. If I can or can not, he should have not spoken to a patient in such a way. He was in the room for a whole 8 minutes and was rude the entire time. He was truly one of the worst physicians/dentist ive ever dealt with. I will NEVER be returning to this office.

The one star is even too much for this business because I never have seen unprofessional running business in my life, vent there because my old upper denture was broken they said that dentures are custom made and look natural ,so after some women that thinks she know more than Pope took impression ( mind you not Doctor) and waiting 7 days went in for trial told them it is to big tooth for my mouth and it is hitting very hard so they told me to come after 7 days again went yesterday it was very very bad made it was failing from my mouth it was to big so I told them that they send me home and tell me to come back at 4 pm again feeling was awful she did not want to even try to listening to my explanation (she have 42 years of experience who am I to tell her what is wrong with denture) so my recommendation do not go there if you want to have a peaceful nights (I did not sleep for nights) .

Totally professional people, excellent service, conscientious attention to me, I have a new denture from them recently purchased and these people are on their game! My new denture does not even require adhesive because it fits so well and I've been in for adjustments and they accommodate me right away they have a system of moving the patients through and it works wonderfully I totally recommend

Dr. Dunn & his assistant Carmen are incredible! I was recently seen in the office for veneers on all of my front teeth. My visit was seamless & my smile looks gorgeous! I can't thank them enough! The doctor made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire appointment & his assistant did a fabulous job getting me taken care of! From the front team to the back everyone made me feel right at home! You guys rock I wish I could leave 10 stars

I really enjoyed the dentist even tho my nerves were really bad. The man that is the doctor is great when i asked him not to poke at my teeth he respected it and didnt poke he just looked. He was also really sweet towards me and respected my opinion.

I changed my Dentist of 12 years to another one closer to where I live. I'm so glad I chose Kannapolis Universal Smiles. The whole visit was so much nicer than I had thought. I was a bit nervous but there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about.

I have mixed opinions. They are always super nice and fast. However, too fast seems to be a common issue with my visits. I have gotten cavities filled and when I got in the car noticed part of the cavity still visible on two different occasions. And sometimes they don't wait for the numbing meds to work before starting. Seems always rushed and bad mistakes happen.
