Dr. Bruce A. Kanehl attended The University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He majored in Mechanical Engineering and played on the basketball and golf teams. He then attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 1974. Following dental school, Dr. Kanehl joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. He married Marla who was a practicing hygienist in Jacksonville and they started his private practice in 1976. They have three beautiful daughters, Brianne, Keri and Jamie.
Today, after over 40 years in private practice, Dr. Kanehl is one of North Florida 's premier cosmetic and restorative dentists.His special emphasis is in the treatment of dysfunction of the Temporomandibular Joints (TMJ) and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Bruce A. Kanehl artfully blends dentistry and beauty. 'I guide my patients toward not just a youthful smile, but a natural healthy one with perfect balance of occlusion.'
Dr. Bruce A. Kanehl is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Northeast District Dental Association of Florida, The Society of Occlusal Studies and The American Equilibration Society. When he is not at his practice, Dr. Kanehl enjoys spending time with his family and dogs and cats, traveling, boating and playing golf.

Keri is the Office Coordinator at Kanehl Dental Group, P.A., where she ensures the daily operations run smoothly. Since she joined the practice in 2009, she welcomes patients with a friendly smile and helps to calm any nervousness they may be feeling about coming to the dentist. She is more than willing to help answer any questions about finances and treatment plans. She will do her very best to also find a day and time that fits in your schedule to make it easier on you to come see Dr. Kanehl. Formerly, she taught Kindergarten at Yulee Primary School and prior to teaching she was the Assistant Director of the extended day program at The Bolles School Ponte Vedra Campus. She attended The University of Alabama where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies.
Keri is born and raised in Jacksonville and always knew this is where she would raise her family. When she isnt working, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, spinning, yoga and finding new places around the River City to explore and eat great food.

Needed my oral appliance adjusted. Dr.K did it in the office, without requiring me to leave it or be fitted for a new one. Quick, professional and always warm and welcoming.

I have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and could not adjust to any CPAP machine no matter how many I tried. Dr. Kanehl equipped me with a sleep device that allows me to sleep with a minimum amount of snoring and no gasping for air. If you suffer from this problem, I highly recommend Dr. Kanehl. I have had this device for eight years and it is still doing great. Dr. Kanehl's staff is highly professional and you will not meet a more courteous and helpful group.

Dr. Kanehl is amazing! After being confined to a CPAP machine due to sleep apnea and TMJ, I visited Dr. Kanehl to see if I qualified for a dental device. While the CPAP machine was effective, I just wasn't getting quality sleep and the CPAP left horrible marks on my face. From the moment I met Dr. Kanehl I felt confident and comfortable in his care. He wasn't the cheapest, but what's the price of a good night's sleep? Like the saying goes, You get what you pay for! Insurance ended up paying a large portion of my bill, which was a blessing. On my follow up visit I was happy to report that for the first time in a long time, I was actually dreaming again! Signs of a good nights sleep! It was a life changer for me. Words cannot describe how caring and meticulous Dr. Kanehl is. He is never to busy to fit you in and address and correct any issues you might be having. His staff is the most friendly and efficient of any doctor/dentist I've ever visited. Dr. Kanehl sets the bar high! Love him!
