Dr. Spicer was raised in Huntington, West Virginia. He graduated from the West Virginia University school of dentistry in 1984 after receiving his undergraduate degree from Marshall University. He began practicing at Kanawha Valley Dental Group upon graduation in July of 1984.
Dr. Spicer is a member of the Kanawha Valley Dental Society, West Virginia Dental Association and American Dental Association. He continues to receive updated training in Invisalign aligners, dental implants, laser dentistry and cosmetic techniques, including Lumineers.
He is married to his wife, Debbie, and together they have two sons, Jared and Chase. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family. He stays very active in his local community, having served on the Putnam County Board of Education for five terms since 1997 and staying active in his local church.
Many of our patients say that coming to Kanawha Valley Dental Group feels like visiting family. That is something we are proud of and will continue to make a priority for each patient. Dr. Craig Spicer has been providing comprehensive dentistry in St. Albans, West Virginia, and the surrounding areas for 35 years, helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds feel more comfortable and confident in their smiles.

Everyone is courteous and welcoming. I can't think of anything that needs improvement. This is the ONLY place I have been during the COVID Pandemic where pens customers use to fill out forms are wiped clean with sanitizer. Dr. Spicer is patient and unfailingly gentle in his procedures to help his clients.

This office is run very well. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes pass my appointment time. The staff is all professional and yet personable. They are very accommodating if I need to switch an appointment. Just a great group of people and care about their patients.

What a nice, friendly, professional staff! Dr. Spicer is simply the BEST dentist I've ever had, and his assistant Shelley is top-notch and very caring! Rosie is a GREAT hygienist! I really enjoy these folks!

Dr. Spicer and his staff are nothing short of amazing! Laid back atmosphere where you feel comfortable asking questions regarding treatment options. Dr. Spicer and his staff are a gem in the Kanawha Valley!!! Highly recommend.

I was having issues with a crown I got from somewhere else, and they got me in the same day that I called. The staff was so friendly! Dr. Spicer was awesome and explained things to me in a way I could understand. He took his time to answer my questions and talk with me about treatment. His assistant (I can't remember her name!) was also awesome. She really seemed to care about what was going on and asked questions to make sure she understood what was happening with my tooth.

I have been a patient at Kanawha Valley Dental Group for a couple of months. I love it there. Dr. Spicer is really concerned that you don't feel pain. His staff is friendly and efficient. For the first time in my life, I'm not afraid to go to the dentist.

Did not like the 'new' 'Varnish Fluoride' treatment. liked the old swish around better. Will pass on that next time and save the $42.00. Debbie had a upset stomach for 2 days. Otherwise, no issues been going there for years.

Always a pleasure to talk with the staff and the dentist is the friendliest professional doctor I have ever seen. He explains your situation to you so you know exactly what is going on at all times, before, during and after your procedure. Going to the dentist is no longer a worry for me.
