For more than 29 years, I have strived to build long-lasting relationships with my patients. One of the best things about my job is when my patients refer their friends and loved ones to my practice. Knowing that I have impacted their lives in a positive way is my greatest reward.
My profession is all about service, personal touch, education, and connecting with patients. Helping patients have a positive experience when it comes to dental treatment is my utmost priority, and I want to ensure that I can improve their overall health for years to come. I am also fortunate to work with such a hard-working team who is willing to help educate our patients so they can have a pleasant experience.
In 1984, I obtained my Bachelor of Sciences degree in Industrial Management fromSan Jose State University.I then received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1991 from theUniversity of Tennessee.I also continue my education through courses in new technology and methods which help me give my patients optimal oral health.
Although my formal education is complete, I stay abreast of the latest dental treatments and techniques in order to ensure my patients are always receiving the best care. For two years I helped train general dentists to perform orthodontics in association with theAcademy of Gp Orthodontics. Ive also collaborated with a University of Washington dental research group calledNorthwest PRECEDENT to carry out a variety of research topics in Evidence-Based Dentistry. Some of the completed articles will be published this year.
I was born in Iran and grew up in San Jose, California. Currently, I live in Olympia and have been here for about 20 years. I am a proud father of two daughters, and my hobbies include playing racquetball and tennis, mountain biking, and cooking.

Had to change my review after several years going here. I now have a swollen jaw from a problematic Crown put it here. I have been back several times since complaining of pain and always told nothing or that nature will take care of it. Well, now I have missed 2 days of work due to my ongoing issues with this tooth. I get the gentle dentist commitment, and that you are conservative with your methods, but I now think I may need to find a new dentist (my wife as well). Maybe, just maybe, listen to your customers when they are complaining about pain. Was not seeking anything other than hoping to avoid going thru what I am going thru right now. Thx for this!

Hands down, the best dentist my wife and I have ever had. Very compassionate and helpful staff and they all seem to love working there. The best part is they are always trying to save your teeth rather than pull them. That's what I'm talking about.

My first experience there I would call excellence. I've been to many dentist in the past and I have never experienced the type of excellence in customer service, excellence in care as I have here. The expertise, the compassion, everything was perfect and that was just my consult. When I returned for my first actual procedure I experience the exact same excellence as I did the first time. THIS is the dentist I chose for myself and my family from here on out. THIS is the excellence I've been searching for and now my search has stopped.

Unsure of what dentist to choose? Look no further. Front Buffy to Julia and Dr. Kamkar himself, this office is wonderful. Each staff member is kind, transparent, empathetic and clearly skilled and knowledgeable. They use digital xray -- no sharp cuts or abrasions in your mouth from sharp edged plastic! They even have you use sterilized sunglasses that reduce the glare from the light. Each person explained things thoroughly and efficiently. And, Dr. Kamkar -- it's hard to explain. His presence seems to be calming to one's soul. Before I left, I was given a written estimate of the work that needed to be done showing the different possibilities so that I know what to expect financially, too. I highly recommend this office. Thank you so much!

Nothing but good things to say. Had an amazing experience with Doc Kamkar. This was a final visit in a series of visits. Doc is a perfectectionist. Its apparent he loves his work. He goes that extra mile. Keeps you informed of what he's doing. It extends to his staff. Office Reception was simple. Staff extremely polite. Even when all the work was completed they invited my family to come too. It did not feel like a business proposition but that all my family would be taken care of too if they were to come. If your looking for a new dentist might want to drive a couple more miles to here!
