Dr. Kelly L. Kalmar was raised in Greenlawn and is a proud graduate of Harborfields High School. She then attended Ithaca College where she earned a B.A. degree in Biology and received her D.M.D. degree from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation she completed a two-year General Practice residency at Nassau University Medical Center and went on to become the Director of Dentistry at that same program.

In 1998 Dr. Kelly was ready to return to Huntington, where she joined Kalmar Family Dentistry, which was established by her father, Dr. Gregory W. Kalmar in 1974. They practiced together here on Green Street in Huntington until his retirement in 2018.

During their 20 years together, they had established a solid professional relationship resulting in a patient centered practice philosophy in regard to both dental care and the overall well-being of those they treat and work with. Dr. Kelly Kalmar insists that all at Kalmar Family Dentistry continue in the tradition of going out of their way to establish caring relationships with our patients and aim to work in an atmosphere where excellent family dentistry is our purpose.

Dr. Kelly Kalmar is one of the founding members of the Long Island Female Dental Association. She is also one of the founding members and an officer of a local charity group called Dentist for a Better Huntington. Dr. Kelly is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She has completed 1000 continuing education hours as a means of keeping her staff and herself on top of the continuously changing world of 21st century dentistry.

Dr. Kelly currently lives in Northport with her husband, Rob, and their two Burmese Mountain dogs, Axel and Sammy. When not working, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and gardening, but most of all she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Thomas Jones is a born and bred Long Islander. He grew up down the block from the New York Islanders home ice but was raised a tried and true Blueshirt fan! After graduating Uniondale High School, he received his B.A. degree in Biology from Molloy College in Rockville Center. Dr. Jones went on to complete his D.M.D. degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. The hardest part of those four years was keeping the hidden Yankee Fan from those pesky Red Sox Guys.

Following the completion of his D.M.D. degree, Dr. Jones was anxious to return to Long Island to begin his dental career. He completed a General Dentistry Residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where he became an Attending and ultimately became the Director of Dental Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center.

Dr. Jones and his wife, Meredith, have two children, Jace and Jolie. He is an avid camper and gets outdoors whenever possible. Dr. Jones says, nothing relieves stress better than a campfire and smores. He is a volunteer scout master for Boy Scout Troop 123 in Merrick. But, most of all, Dr. Jones loves going to Disneyland with his family.

Perhaps I'm lucky in having easy filling and crowns and a doctor that knows precisely where to apply anesthetic as I hardly feel any discomfort. In all my years, I've never gotten a sense of confidence in a Dentist as I have with Dr. Jones. His explanations and technique really become apparent from the moment I sat in the chair through the years of enjoying my natural teeth.
