James graduated from Loma Linda University in 2007 and worked as a contract dentist in Walla Walla, WA then at a small clinic in Havre, MT. In 2012, James acquired the long-running Kalispell Family Dental practice that had been home to Denny Schultz, DDS. Dr. Schultz remained on as an associate for 2 years until his retirement in 2014. Unlike a lot of offices where the doctor is hidden in the back, James is readily available to talk with patients and is involved in much of the day to day happenings in the office.
While in college, James met his wife Brooke and together they have two kids, Anders and Ella. When hes not in the office youre likely to find James playing hockey, skiing, snowmobiling, biking or watching the Vikings.

The dentist is never a fun place to go but this practice has earned my trust. I heard about them by word of mouth. I've had cleanings, extractions, and all my fillings done here. If you have any questions or concerns, let them know. The staff is hard-working, attentive, and kind.

I recently became a new patient with Family Dental.... That is exactly what this place is... A Dental Practice with a family attitude, the Doc and his team of dental hygienist are very professional with a high regard of respect toward the patient and their needs... If asked... I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOC.. no wait if I did that he would be to busy... NO EVERYONE DESERVE FAMILY DENTALS PROFESSIONALS for their dental care.

They seem very nice and willing to help in the beginning! The entire time your in the chair the dentist and assistant do nothing but talk about their personal lives. The dentist actually drilled so much of my teeth and made them worse, my fillings all fell out. At that time he refused to pull them (he isn't very confident in his work) I ended up in emergency oral surgery 2 times. The oral surgeon said as nicely as possible "we have had many problems with this dentists inability to do do his job. They have excuses for EVERYTHING! If you value your teeth DONT go here! If you value honesty and not to be screwed around with your bill DONT go here! I learned the hard way! I lost all three teeth "he fixed" there are many dentist in the valley that take pride in their work. Please don't make the mistake I did.

The hygenist was pleasant and seemed to know what she was talking about but I am very disappointed with the end result of my cleaning. My old dentist is in another town because I just moved here and I am just disappointed. I even made plans when I go home to visit to see my other dentist to get it done the right way.

Dr. Kozik has taken over since Dr. Schultz retired, and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. Excellent service, friendly with a good dose of humor makes the experience overall positive.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Kozik and his staff! They have taken amazing care of my smile and are invested in the overall health of their patients. Tycy is thorough with my cleanings every 6 months and assessing my gum health as well as assessing my general health for indicators of potential problems later. The implant I received from Dr Kozik was painless and the office was accommodating with my own busy office schedule. I HIGHLY recommend this office for great dental care.
