I love to talk with my patients and get to know each on a personal level. Treatment usually takes place over a year or two and I see patients every four to six weeks. This allows plenty of time for us to build a relationship that often becomes a friendship. I look forward to the latest news of each persons activities and achievements, hearabout their day, and sharein their life.

After finishing my dental degree, in 1980, I spent three years on a mission for my church, and practicedfamily dentistry on Guambefore returning to school for my orthodontic residency. This experience was invaluable, becauseit gave me a strong appreciation of peoples real dental needs and how to approach orthodontic treatment with a focus on individual concerns.
Orthodontics is a constantly evolving specialty. New techniques, materials, and technology are being developed at a rapid speed. Its my responsibility to stay current on these new options and carefully evaluate each to determine whethertheyre appropriate for my patients treatment.
Im part of a multidisciplinary study club that meets every monthto review casestudies, research articles, and discuss oral healthcare. I also devour the Oakstone Publishing publications that highlightthe latest orthodontic research and inventions.
Being active in our community is important. I enjoy helping others and coming together to work toward a common goal. Im involved with the American Heart Association and volunteer feeding and caring for homeless at our local shelter.
I also offer regular dental screenings through the Central Coast Dental Society, participate in the mentoring program through Marian Medical Center, and am a member of World to You, which promotesliteracy in elementary schools.
I was born and raised on Honolulu, and have lived in Nipomo since 1992. My wife Constance and I have been married for more than 35 years. Shes the educator for surgical services at Marian Regional Medical Center.
Constance and I have three daughters: Jenee is an orthodontist and lives in Colorado Springs; Julie is a family practice physician in Shreveport, Louisiana; and Jillian is studying nurse anesthesia in Los Angeles. We have agrandson, Caden, as well as a pet chinchilla, Koi,a pug, and a horse.
