Dr. Steven Ray is a family and cosmetic dentist serving the Kalamazoo and Portage areas of Southwest Michigan. We are dedicated to providing excellent dental care while striving to give you the most pleasant dental experience possible.
Our staff takes the time to get to know you and to address your personal concerns, assuring your personal comfort. We have recently remodeled our office in an effort to make your experience as easy and comfortable as possible. Our inviting reception area has comfortable couches and chairs, a coffee bar with a selection of coffee, tea, and water, a kids play area with books, games, and a Xbox 360. Our treatment rooms are outfitted with the latest state-of-the-art dental technology. We utilize the latest digital x-rays that are not only more comfortable, but also emit a fraction of the radiation of conventional films. Our chairs are made of ultra-leather and are extremely comfortable; neck pillows and blankets are also available. LED TV's are mounted in each room to help you relax and make you feel more at-home. If there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, please do not hesitate to ask.
We provide a complete range of dental services, from professional cleanings and preventative care to the more complex restorative and cosmetic dental treatments such as tooth whitening (bleaching), cosmetic bonding, crowns, veneers and dental implants.
Dr. Ray has also had extensive training in adult orthodontics. He is a Certified provider for both Invisalign and Six Month Smiles. Invisalign utilizes a series of clear aligners to straighten your teeth. The aligners are very comfortable and practically invisible. Six Month Smiles uses tooth colored brackets and wire and can straighten your teeth in much less time. Please ask us what system would be best for you!

I love this dental office! Over 10 years of being a patient here and I have received exceptional service every single time. The staff are friendly, know you by name, and provide a very warm "family-like" environment. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I received a cosmetic procedure last month and have been smiling ever since. I'm so happy with the results!! Thank you so much to the staff of Kalamazoo Family Dentistry!!!

outstanding, quality service. Have been a patient for decades at this office and the level of care is exemplary. From unforeseen emergency procedures to aesthetic procedures or semi-annual cleaning the staff and dentists take time to meet patient needs. Totally recommend Dr. Ray and staff to anyone in the area.

I've been going to this office for many years and have always had a good experience. The receptionists and hygienists are professional and make you feel welcome. Dr Ray has always taken great care to make sure every procedure is as comfortable as possible and efficient.

This week was my first time getting a cleaning at this office. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions with a smile. Dr. Howell came in and did the exam followed by the hygienist who performed the cleaning. Both were very friendly, did a thorough job and got me in and out in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this dentist office to others.

They worked me in a month before my appointment so I could have a tooth looked at before my vacation. Recently, I went in for a cosmetic change to my smile and oh my, this dentist is an artist. He even welcomed me back for a detail that made it perfect. Very highly recommended!

Searched for a while to find a good dentist in Kalamazoo. I Love! Love! Love this office. All of the staff are kind from the receptionist to the dentist and all of my needs are met during every visit. Highly recommend!

Everyone here was super friendly! My husband and I just had our first cleanings here, and the everything went great! My husband specifically said it was the smoothest cleaning he has ever had. The environment was great as well. Everything was very clean and they even have TVs to watch on the ceiling while you're getting your cleaning done!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Ray and his practice. I have had several appointments, and every experience has been amazing. Dr. Ray developed, and thoroughly explained a treatment plan for me which has exceeded expectations. He always explains exactly what is being done and answers any questions, and I never feel rushed. I had a minor emergency between appointments, Dr. Ray and his staff addressed and remedied it immediately. The entire staff from the front desk to my hygienist Lindsey are absolutely fantastic. Everyone in the office is so pleasant and friendly. I have never waited more than 5 minutes past my appointment time before being called back, and my scheduled treatment begins immediately. I have never had any issues with billing, insurance, or appointments. This practice operates efficiently, professionally, and in a friendly, welcoming manner. These are intangibles that just can't be measured, but are priceless. No way any other dental office in the area has it all together like Dr. Ray and his staff. I would give 6 stars out of 5 if I could...

Had an appointment with this office. Unfortunately I woke up with diarrhea and vomiting the morning of. Had I known it was ok to still go to my apt and possibly pass on a stomach virus to the staff and not get charged a ridiculous 450.00 cancelation fee I would have come in. This office is one I would not recommend unless you want to go in sick, pass around illness and get penalized for taking in consideration of others by canceling when you wake up on the day of your apt puking and with diarrhea. Please fund another office and consider being considerate of those who try to be considerate.

Dr. Ray and his fantastic staff work together perfectly. Lindsay is a wonderful hygienist who really listens to her patient. Dr. Ray is a terrific dentist who truly cares about his patients. Every concern I have had, my husband or my parents - he has helped all of us tremendously. I highly recommend this practice to anyone searching for a long term dentist.
