Healthy children feel better in schools, which helps our efforts to educate. Tooth decay is the most common disease among childrenit is also largely preventable! By providing dental care in the schools, children can easily access necessary preventive care in order to stay healthy! I am grateful that Just Kids Dental offers free access to dental care to our areas children who may have little to no access. This care, education, and in some cases, immediate referrals to a dentist, has changed the lives of many of these children. I have witnessed the excitement and smiling faces of children as they are assisted by this amazing team of professionals from Just Kids Dental. We are blessed to have Just Kids Dental offer these vital dental services at our schools.
One of my favorite parts of working with the underserved youth through Just Kids Dental is being able to provide a positive, comforting, and exciting experience for kids who may have never even seen a dentist before.
'Just Kids Dental is a fantastic program that makes sure every child, no matter their families income, is able to learn about the importance of taking care of your teeth. They provide brushes and other necessities that some children may not have or have ever seen before; such as floss, the children love getting new brushes and their own personal floss and toothpaste. Their dental hygienists do a fantastic job with the children no matter their age and are always prepared with an age appropriate presentation. We appreciate everything Just Kids Dental does for our children!'
When I was a child, I did not have a mobile dental office to come to our community. A matter of fact, I did not have dental coverage until I was twenty five years old. Now I have a missing tooth which is mainly concealed in the back of my mouth, a couple of bridges and a number of fillings. My family was a low income family and we could not afford the dental care that youth have today (such as Just Dental). If we did, I know that I would not have the problems I have today with my teeth. The members of the Goldberg Branch Boys & Girls Club really had a teachable moment from Just Dental!
Just Kids Dental is a very important addition to our schools, which costs families and our school district nothing other than providing the space necessary to provide these services. It is a very unique and valuable asset to our community.
